Hi y'all!
I just found a '95 Patricia's Legacy at GW in fantastic condition, except for a spot on the bottom. The spot is dark, shiny, and looks raised on the edges, but doesn't seem to just be something sitting on top (nor does it go all the way through the leather). Any advice on how the spot can be removed? Thanks!

Could it be gum? I'd try an extra hot bath. Or you could try to work on it first with acetone.

Thank you! I'm very lucky to have such amazing nail artists only a couple of miles away. :blushing:

After the hot bath with Dawn, the spot is now sunken (instead of raised), smaller, and less dark. I'll condition in the am, and see where I can go from there.
If it isn't hard anymore, it might have left a grease stain for which you can use the cornstarch trick.

I need your input ladies. I have this Poppy Glam tote, with some reddish stains going all around the center of the straps. I first tried the Coach cleaner, then water and detergent, but nothing cleans it. When wet they look even darker and when dry go back to the same state.
It looks to me as it is coming from underneath, like perhaps some adhesive used between the vinyl and cloth part of the strap?

I called Coach and they said that if what I did made no difference, to take it to one of their stores to be examined. My closest store is about 1 1/2 hr away, not a trip I can make any day, so in the meantime I would love to try something else if you have any ideas, or perhaps you know of this being a problem with these bags?

TIA :smile1:

I doubt Coach will do anything about it. It is more than a year old and they recently changed their warranty to one year. Even if they wanted to repair it, they don't have that fabric anymore and they won't do labor-intensive repairs. You probably couldn't prove that you didn't spill something on it. I remember seeing a reddish color on the back of my metallic Glam straps, not on the fabric part.

LOL, I know their policy about repairs, sending the bag and paying for a consultation to begin with, etc... no worth it with this one. I just want to see if they admit to be glue, to stay away from this type of straps in the future.

I will keep doing research about this. Thanks! :smile1:

How do I know if a bag has vachetta leather or not? I just acquired a Coach Madison Pinnacle Carrie in Blush, Style 23745, and want to ensure I use the right products on her.

Thanks!
I don't know for sure. I think it has a slightly different texture. If it waterspots then it is probably vachetta! If you are worried, I've heard you can use Cadillac conditioner on vachetta.

You're welcome. Let me know what you find out. You might be able to color the straps with something to cover it up.

I will give an update if it helps others, of course. I took the time to look at other bags like it, (completed listings on Ebay), not many show close ups of the straps, but one or two had similar marks although less noticeable, all showed "bumps" what could be the glue that was applied on spots, not uniformly all over.

Actually, you already are giving me a good idea, not sure if it will work or not. Apply some fabric paint in a matching color, perhaps it works. Another thing to research.

Thanks again Whateve! :smile1:

Hello all. I've been lurking here for3 years and have now joined. I have a sand Legacy Haley I gave my sister that she has been really hard on. I want to clean it up. It has some stains and kind of rubbed off around the edges. I want to carry it but it looks soo pathetic. I don't think I can post pics, yet. Any suggestions for cleaners to get me started? Thanks!

I would probably wash it. The Legacy leather had a problem where the color rubbed off on the edges. The lining is easy to clean. I don't think leather cleaners work better on leather than cleaning products you use for other things. It would be helpful to know what kind of stains you're talking about.

There are some red ink stains, what appears to be a giant greasy spot on the bottom, and some remnants of sticky stuff on the bottom. How would I wash it?
