Do you think I should wash my bottle green Bleecker duffle? I don't know how much it would help the wrinkling of this bag.

I can't remember, is it medium or large? I washed my medium ink blue, which I feel like would have the same tendency to bleed as the green. Medium was easy to deal with. I have bottle green in the large but it was spotless. The Magenta was just heavy and bulky when wet.

Does that help any? You know me, if the bottle green needed it I would go for it.

It's the medium. I'll send it to you and you can send it back to me when it's perfect! :roflmfao:

I know this is a Coach thread, but would it be acceptable for me to post a few questions regarding the rehab of some vintage Dooney and Bourke bags? The Dooney and Bourke thread is dead, so someone suggested that I post here instead. Does anyone on here even have any experience with All Weather Leather bags?

Yes, you can post here. Several of us have rehabbed Dooneys and other brands. The All Weather bags don't rehab as well as Coach but they are similar to Coach Sheridans, but stiffer. You can use the same techniques. If you search through the thread, you might find some Dooney rehabs.

Please tell me if this type of lining can be cleaned, how? I'm about to buy it from a local Facebook group for $50 (good price?). Thanks!

Yes, you can pull the lining out and wash it. If it's really dirty, I use dishwashing soap and water, which requires rinsing. A little bit of water touching the leather won't hurt it, you just don't want it to get soaked. If it just needs spot cleaning, I use a spray cleaner without bleach. You can use alcohol for ink stains.

It's a good price. They were at the outlets but for a lot more than $50! Pretty bag!

Hi Everyone!

I have a question for all you rehabers out there, more about general maintenance then rehab. I have just started to collect coach bags the last few months and just became the proud owner of a GIGI bag , and soon to be owner of a Alexandra (in green eeeeck!), and a brown leather Carly.

I am just not sure how to "properly" care for them.... My first bag was a Maggie Mia in black with white C's, I love it and I got it in ok condition, it had white paint all over the black leather but luckly not on the cloth, that was just dirty. I used auto leather cleaner plus conditioner followed with a leather conditioner I picked up at Target and surprisingly I easily got the part off and the leather looking good, I then cleaned the bag and liner with Tuff Stuff that I had seen someone on YouTube use and a coworker said they had also done this. Now I know there are probably so so many things wrong with what I did and I am hoping you all could help me with that.

The Alexandra bag is supposedly in mint condition, as per my convo with the owner, and I am hoping will need just a clean and condition, I did clean the Gigi already with the same techniques as above but it is alittle more used and has areas where the leather has faded and the handles look really dry still and worn, I was able to get all the stains off the liner and the bag itself but would love to know how to take really good care of these bags.

Your Gigi link doesn't work, here's the corrected link: http://desmoines.craigslist.org/clo/4933757681.html
Nothing wrong with Tuff Stuff. I bought some too. I don't think I would use it on leather. For the Gigi, you probably need a better leather conditioner. I like Leather Honey for Legacy leather. It moisturizes and darkens. You can also use Blackrocks. I don't know how to keep it off the fabric though.

For your Alexandra and Carly, you can pull out the lining to clean. Then you can use conditioner on the leather. In this thread we recommend our favorite conditioners. I don't know anything about the quality of the conditioner you bought at Target. I don't remember ever seeing leather conditioners at my Target.

Hi y'all!
I just found a '95 Patricia's Legacy at GW in fantastic condition, except for a spot on the bottom. The spot is dark, shiny, and looks raised on the edges, but doesn't seem to just be something sitting on top (nor does it go all the way through the leather). Any advice on how the spot can be removed? Thanks!

Sharpie marker, ( shaped, sized like magic markers ) in metallic gold. There's also a metallic silver, and a bronze!

Hth..

I used a paint pen to fix a Poppy glam. I'm not sure it was real leather though. I'd start with acrylic paint mixed with conditioner. They make metallics.

Thank you! I have been unable to find matching acrylic paint in my area of limited craft stores, but a gold Sharpie marker that I rub around with my finger when it's wet (just like I do all the other colors) seems to be working well enough.
