Somebody bid on it last night :shrugs: I've already messaged the seller about it once already...they don't seem entirely "with it" and I had to walk them through attaching a photo of the creed via the eBay app. Somebody else suggested it might have dry rot as well, and the seller doesn't accept returns. Maybe I should just hang back and see what happens with the auction. That would also explain why the handle's gone now that I think about it.
That bid has been retracted.

I figured it was either a carrier or musette. That is in horrible condition! I think you might be lucky you lost!
Possibly. I had already figured out a plan of attack and have a lot of great products for bags in this kind of condition. I'm also near a leatherworker who has a lot of big clients like US Park Police and the Smithsonian so I was going to see if he could make a new handle.

Well, the winner has private feedback....so...if you were #2, you might get a 2nd chance. You're a braver woman than i am!

Recently new member to the community and to Coach. I bought a pre owned bag as a gift for Mom and there is a huge crease in it. It is a black lurex bag and the crease is in the banded stripe.... I have googled how to fix and have found nothing on lurex, only leather. Please help I can't send it to her looking like this. I have tried heated towels and stuffing it also blow drying the area, waited a few days and still the crease persists. I saw people have tried ironing leather creases out but would this destroy the lurex material? Anyone else have this problem?

I have never worked on this type of bag, but I bet water wouldn't hurt it. If you got it wet, you could stuff it so it dried smooth. You'd have to soak it enough to make a difference and get the entire thing wet so you don't end up with a water ring. I've washed several fabric bags without a problem.

If you are afraid to wet it, first you can try hanging it in a steamy bathroom while you take a shower.

I wonder if it is bonded to something and that is causing the problem?

Love this thread! Been following for months now. Thanks everyone for the tips for my other bag.

I bought a rehab bag and definitely needs to be dunked. Love to hear any tips you have for dunking a bag that is lined!

pull the lining out when the bag is drying. Try to keep the leather and fabric from touching each other in order to prevent bleeding.
