Here are some mahogany bags I've been working on. They are just about done.
That leather just glows! Wow!
That looks like a great pile! Just to warn you--I have 2 Willis bags for rehabbing and the first gave me a LOT of problems because I didn't dry it very well initially. It doesn't seem like it, but the leather totally soaks up the water like a sponge. (I had 2 that were 5 years apart in the 90s and in pretty good shape to begin with.) I worked on my first Willis in July or August...and I just got the courage to take on my other one! Thanks for the dowel dunk info ladies. I have got to get busy. Found some nice old and nice not so old early bags to rehab. So much fun. Hubby getting worried at all the packages coming to the door!

And dinkys have been super easy rehabs for me. I'm really looking forward to working on the red one, partially because I'm curious to see what color the water will turn!

Thanks! Yes they are gorgeous! I highly recommend the mahogany bags. I have a few other brown Coach bags, but they don't have the depth or glow of mahogany.

I agree. I also love NYC burgundy and tabac. I'm working on some white and ivory bags at the moment and not particularly enjoying it. I won't be buying any more.
Spare parts anyone? Makes me feel queasy looking at them!

Nice bag. As the canvas is not too bad at all you could wash it by hand though it would probably be OK in the washer. The newer leather doesn't have the dye all the way though like the classic leather so you will probably need to touch it up as the conditioner alone is unlikely to bring the colour back.Okay, so I got this really cute tote bag today. It's canvas and leather, and I'm thinking it might be a good candidate for tossing in the washing machine. I have a front-loader HE machine. The canvas is in okay shape, but the leather is really dirty (and I suspect it might need some acrylic touch-ups.) Let me know what you all think about the best course of action for this one. I'm thinking I might try some leather CPR on the leather to see how much of it cleans up before I do anything TOO dramatic. (I'm surprised the creed came out as well as it did in the pictures--it looks pretty bad in person!)
