She is mahogany brown, a mini shopper tote (I Think) Love the shape. I dunked her, put lots of Leather CPR on her, some acrilic paint I mixed to match for the edges and 2 thin coats of Kiwi neutral Leather Cuir to finish. I bought a brass shoulder purse chain on evilbay. Cross body straps always fall between my boobs and muss my clothing up.:nogood:
So here she is all dressed up and ready to go out.:hbeat:

You did a great job. Love the chain strap too.

She looks fantastic!

Thanks whateve! I searched on nubuck but couldn't find anything, I'll try searching her name. :smile1:
Sorry, this is late; but I've had great experiences with nubuck. I've dunked and washed (mostly use Dawn and hit the trouble areas with fels naptha and oxi-clean combo.....whatever I deem necessary). The nubuck is very forgiving. I will admit the bath mostly removes dirt and other peoples grime. After drying, the stains (usually pen marks) remain. Your best defense (and I swear by it) is the Johnson and Murphy Suede Eraser. It takes elbow grease, but I've successfully removed ink pen marks from light bone nubuck without injury. After hitting the trouble areas, I usually then go over the entire purse with the suede eraser to blend-in. The transformation is impressive. I was afraid of suede and nubuck initially......but those older Sonoma's are great rehabs. Good luck!

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I have a repair need. My dog decided pulling down my large saffiano tote and chewing on the strap was a good idea. Now I'm wondering how to fix it. It's almost torn all the way through, though not quite, on one of the straps. What is your best suggestion for repairing this? I love my bag and don't want to give up on her just because my dog kind of sucks sometimes.

Thank you in advance for any tips or advice!

That is a great looking bag. Did you get her?

I didn't even though I'd been watching it for a week! I loved the colour and style. The seller didn't get back to me in time about the reason for the sewn-on hangtag- Hyacinth has suggested that it could be covering a hole or stain and I asked if there was any evidence of that on the inside. Also, I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to remove the dark patina spots. I've finally become a little less impulsive and realise that there are millions of Coach bags out there and if I'm patient I'll get a good one (and also I can save up for something REALLY special!)

Thanks Elizabeth! I've been eyeing a few on the bay, but was afraid to pull the trigger. Now I definitely will!
