I remember Ledobe saying she used it after she had used Leather CPR. She didn't bother cleaning it before and it worked fine. I bought a few colors. I've never done a complete bag. I bought a dark brown. I broke the bottle and had to transfer it to another container so I can't remember if it was the dark brown or the mahogany; whatever I have isn't quite as red as Coach's classic mahogany but it is pretty close. I wasn't able to use it on the corners of my mahogany bags without adding a little red. The capezio tan isn't very close to putty. I've started using it on my slim tote disaster but I haven't gotten very far. I can't decide if I like it. Maybe GM beige would work better? The BT is more red than most Coach BT bags. It is an almost perfect match for the trim on Sheridans. I used it to touch up the edges on a Sheridan and fix one spot on a Dakota and it worked perfectly, thinned with Lexol conditioner.Attention Rehabbers who have used Wood-n-Stuff Leather Restorer...Joodlz needs your help!
I did a search for the use of this product here on this thread and haven't found the info I need...
I've just bathed a Legacy Small Hobo...probably dark brown to start with. It's pretty scuffed as it's drying and all 4 corners are worn through the color (and leather). I've used acrylic mixed with conditioner on other bags in the past and I'm not as satisfied as I'd like to be. I think a refinish is in order for this one. I gave my bag a warm bath with Dawn...Should I condition with Leather CPR? Or should I buy their Cleaner Conditioner Finish Preparer? I'm comfortable that the bag is clean...just don't know if I need their cleaner.
Does anyone have experience with their British Tan? Is it a pretty good match for Coach BT? I'm thinking about getting a few of the small sample bottles in different colors, including dark brown for this current bag. I'm also thinking about Capezio Tan to use on a couple of Putty/Taupe bags.
How far will a sample bottle go?
Any and all info about Wood-n-stuff products and usage is greatly appreciated...THANKS in advance!
Is the back suede? I've never found a suede cleaner that works very well. What works best for me is a suede brush or fine steel wool or sandpaper. For the smooth leather, you can probably use any leather conditioner. I spray all my boots before I wear them with a waterproofer. It makes it much easier to clean them later if necessary.
I haven't dunked nubuck at all. My Sonoma was in pretty good shape when I got it. I rehabbed a Dooney nubuck but I was afraid to dunk it. I'm pretty sure jailnurse93 rehabbed some nubuck items. http://forum.purseblog.com/member.php?u=419890This #$%%@ tablet keeps sending me to google when I try to search this thread! Has anyone dunked a nubuck Sonoma? Thanks!!
Can't wait to see her. I agree she's lovely shape. What's the style? Is she mahogany brown or burgundy?
She looks beautiful! She is mahogany brown, a mini shopper tote (I Think) Love the shape. I dunked her, put lots of Leather CPR on her, some acrilic paint I mixed to match for the edges and 2 thin coats of Kiwi neutral Leather Cuir to finish. I bought a brass shoulder purse chain on evilbay. Cross body straps always fall between my boobs and muss my clothing up.
So here she is all dressed up and ready to go out.![]()
Thanks, this is my first real rehab and I am excited! She looks beautiful!

Hmmm...I'm on my phone, so let me know if I miss something. I have not used brown so I can't vouch for the matching on that color. I have used both red and British Tan on parts of bags and cannot tell. If you search the old thread for the afters of my Musette I know I took a group shot of a bunch of BT bags outside. My Musette, for example, I only used refinisher on the body of the bag, not the handle or the strap and you cannot tell. I'm sad to lose the natural burnishing however. I'm not happy with the look of the BT drawstring bag in that picture though. Maybe it's the type of leather but it doesn't look "natural" to me.
I've also done just a panel or a flap in both red and burgundy and it really matches well.
I have bit used the ckeaner they sell, I just do the regular dunk we all do. I also condition the leather both before and after. Honestly it feels just like a normal coach leather to me after, but I do use very light coats. I think the color is really dense so you get good coverage, I really mostly do a second coat to even out areas I've missed.
Also, a little goes a long way. I do a light coat in a circular motion and then decide if I even need a second coat after that. I would go with the sample bottles, I would think you could get a couple of small to medium bags out of a bottle, and a bunch of touch ups.
Ok, so I leaned it up against the wall with some books inside to kinda help mold it back. No idea if it will work, but here's to hoping! Any better ideas are warmly welcomed! This is my first rehab attempt and I thought it was going smoothly until I noticed the back slip pocket is now sticking out and kind of wavy. How can I fix this? Thank you in advance!
