Looks to me like it’s chipping in the chrome plating on the hardware. Good call on waiting for the next one as that type of damage can’t be polished out.Seller confirmed it’s tarnish, I’ll probably wait for the next one to pop up online XD

Uno Mas.Squished City is done.I dunked, and then used black saddle soap as well. Took off the hardware and removed tarnish with fine sandpaper. I rolled and rolled and rolled the front panel with my fingers to try to get those creases out of there.

My pile is so old I've forgotten what's there. I need to work it.Thank youfor continuing to post your rehabs! You are motivating me to get moving on my pile!
The leather looks really thick and rich.
Love the totes! My pile is so old I've forgotten what's there. I need to work it.As I'm rehabbing it, I'm falling in love with the compartment tote. This one's for me. It is coming along GREAT!! Just got a first go round of Leather CPR.

Both were made in the Dominican Republic, one has brass and the other nickel hardware. Makes it easy for me to tell them apart. Guess they're not identical twins. The leather looks really thick and rich.
This bag was only manufactured for one year, according to my research. 1998. Sold for $298. In inflation dollars, that would sell for $589.73. It is SO beautiful, and so beautifully structured. I got it for $20.Love the totes!
Personally I wouldn't dunk unless it was absolutely necessary. I think the bag isn't supposed to be very structured so I don't think you can fix the limpness.Help, please! I got some new bags to work on, one of them being this croc embossed duffle sac. Here in this picture it's stuffed with bubble wrap to prop it up, but overall the bag is quite limp, save for the bottom. The condition of the leather is not terrible and it's also not particularly dirty at first glance. I'm mostly concerned with the right approach and products for cleaning and conditioning. But this also includes the question whether I can or should avoid dunking it. How does this type of embossed leather handle it? I would very much like to dunk it, if possible. To thoroughly clean and to give it back some shape as well. Does any of you have experience with similar leather?

I see. Thanks for the input! I'll do what I can without dunking then.Personally I wouldn't dunk unless it was absolutely necessary. I think the bag isn't supposed to be very structured so I don't think you can fix the limpness.
