I'm calling this "bag luck." I got this vintage Worth Bag, 4143 in pretty rough shape. British tan. It's got this ancient ink stain in the interior. It had leaked into the front pocket leather. But it doesn't touch the front of the bag! Yay! I dunked, worrying it would spread. It didn't. Still working this bag...

Will you try to treat the ink stain? Or leave as is since it hasn’t yet spread?

Looking forward to seeing the results! See many of the laser cut bags online and curious to see how they rehab
Next step in Brooke bag. She’s clean, conditioned, reshaped and dry. The coral dirty lining cleaned up nicely. Leather is much plusher than I expected it to be. I haven’t Blackrocked yet bc I need to try some color touchup first. But the hardware is all pristine!

Dirt and marks all came clean. But there are a handful of small areas of wear that show through as reddish. So I’ll need to use paint. If you zoom in you’ll be able to see an area along the top foldover and also under the main strap rings. And I think really she could use a diluted allover refresh, maybe. This is my first time painting so I’ve done my thread research. My lighting makes the color look taupe but really it’s a pretty pearl dove grey. Like abalone. If anyone can share brand/color suggestions, I’m grateful!

Excited to share an unboxing today! Not vintage. But a nwt thrifted midnight navy pebble with black calf trim Explorer duffle bag that I plan to take on all my summer travels! It’s missing the clochette but has original luggage tag, padlock and key. Paid $100. I’m going to wipe the lining with vinegar, use Lexol 1 cleaner wipes and 2 conditioner wipes (or maybe Cadillac Select), and shape a bit with hot towels bc it was shipped with no stuffing.

ETA: Leather is huggable and smells like a showroom luxury sports car 😂

Can someone advise if this is just worn leather or if mold could be involved? There is a fair amount of darkness on the inside leather of this bag. I can’t tell if it might have been worn down from too much conditioner as the bag is really soft. The outside looks great so I don’t think it was used much. None of my other dinky bags have this much discoloration.

I'm not seeing any evidence of mold. Could it have picked up some of the darker dye from contact?

I would think that too but the pockets and inside have impact as well. And when you clean any of it with vinegar water, it takes on stains easily which it normally doesn’t. Maybe the leather just got really thinned out, and is taking on some of the bag color. It is just odd since the pockets and inside do not have direct contact like the flap. Well, thank you re the reassurance about no mold. It doesn’t seem like mold to me either.

This is a Vintage Coach 4050 lightweights that I’d like suggestions on rehabbing. Whateve has suggested zit cream for the removal of the ink stains. I’m not sure what that is. I’m not sure how to proceed. I don’t want to use saddle soap as I’ve read somewhere that it’s harsh. I’m attaching a photo collage. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

I think it’s the color buckskin, what do you think?

What a pretty bag! Ink is the worst. I’ll let the ink experts weigh in. It sounds like you may have already done this but if you haven’t already, you can find a wealth of info from other rehabs using the search bar up above to search in dropdown option “this thread”.

@whateve ’s talking about benzoyl peroxide acne cream. I’ve used her technique on ink with great success!

Good luck! Looking forward to more pics!

Thank you for your input and especially on how to use the drop-down menu. I didn't have a clue. Once I receive the bag and do some work I'll post an update. Thanks again squeakyrose. 😁
