Can you post a picture?

Ofc, so sorry, I don’t why I didn’t do that…

eta: taking the photo is also helpful bc in looking at it this way I can see that it might not be the stamping but rather a little wear to the edge of the tag… but I’d still be curious about crooked tags generally…

Thanks! Seems there are two iterations of this bag! I like the smooth leather around logo style best. However, I bought another bag to play with, this one has some kind of snake-skin effect around the logo and on the strap. The price was right: $15. https://poshmark.com/listing/Coach-black-leather-crossbody-65a1af2b32c1dcd6e4e648b5

$15? That's amazing! I also prefer the regular leather version. Just purchased purchased 2 vintage bags online, it'll be my first time rehabbing - will post a review on the leather conditioner I bought :)

I think it looks fine. BTW we can try to authenticate hangtags on the AT thread.

There are still bargains to be had...just have to search for them. I just got this Kristin Leather Hobo for $12! Here's it is, post easy rehab:

This is still far, far (far!) from perfect, but I'm happy with the progress. I think I'm going to crossbody it, so I removed the handles. The toothpick method for the huge ink stains worked pretty well.

I am becoming a total ho for glue-in NYC burgundy color & leather quality. It really sends me.

Yay! Nice work. :) What kind of crossbody strap and attachment are you planning? I hope you'll share more pics as the project is moving along.

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone knows what causes this kind of “bubble” on leather? Picked up an Audrey/9071 on eBay and it just arrived. The change in texture goes through to the interior of the purse. Was hoping to do a quick rehab on this one but am leaning towards returning it. What are your thoughts?

I would probably return. I don't know how you could fix that.

It could be a kind of indentation. I vote also for returning (if the bubble was not disclosed or shown in pics). If you decide to work on the bag, I would suggest dunk, condition, and roll, roll, roll the leather between your fingers.

Thanks for suggestion! The bubble wasn’t noted in the description or clearly evident in the pictures, so it’s going back to the seller. But if I run across a similar situation (at a much lower price) I might give it a try.

Lexol should be fine. CPR also cleans.

Update on non-vintage 2011 Light Grey w/ Silver pearlized and perforated Brooke bag:

After a couple of months waiting in queue with the ‘Secret Sachets’ (coffee grounds, salt and lavender in cut-up tights), odor was gone and it was time to get her clean.

I started with Lexol wipes, then pulled out the (very) dirty coral lining and gently scrubbed lining only with clear Dawn. But she still looked a bit dingy inside and out. So for 24.99 I decided into the bath she goes in the name of science!

And I’m happy to report that a brief bath in warm clear Dawn, with a very gentle sponge clean and a vigorous lining scrub, left her sparkly clean and soft with no noticeable damage to finish. I’ve done 2 coats of Cadillac Select (bc I am low on CPR) 24 hours apart, while stuffed with towels. So far so good!

I’ll post pics when she’s dry, and I may need some recommendations on paint to touch ups some tiny areas of wear on edges of folds…
