Coach Zoe woven leather

As odd as it may seem to some, I don't have a brown bag (I have beige/latte light colours, but nothing tan/mid brown or darker brown). This bag popped up in a when searching for 'tan'. It intrigued me, the price was in budget, so I bought it.

1. Does anyone have one now or had one in the past? Can you provide me with any more info on it? The style number is E0873 - 12738

I have looked around and found some outlet metallic versions with the F12738 that appear to be from around 2010. More interestingly I found an old post from the purse forum, but the style number is out by one digit, being 12739. From the pictures the only thing I can notice as being different in the one in this old post from 2008 has a woven handle, whereas the 12738 has a plain leather handle.

2. The creed says it is glove tanned leather, but as it woven leather and complicated in design, how would you tackle the makeover? How would you wash/clean it and what product would you use to conditioning it? I don't have it in had yet, but can see 1 pen mark on the front.

Thanks, Denise

I thought it was british tan, but I don't know. :P
The shoulder brief came in: Black, British Tan, Burgundy, Mahogany, Navy, Putty, Tabac. I'm pretty sure we can rule out, black, navy, or burgundy. So, it's either BT, Mahogany, Putty, or Tabac. I don't really know what putty or tabac look like. I don't think it's mahogany. That leaves BT. It's still wet (and dark because it's wet) in the above picture. I'll have a better idea on color after it dries!

I’ll leave it to the experts among us to give advice on such a complex pattern, but what a pretty bag! I’ve not seen one like that before. Can’t wait to see what you do with her.

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew how to clean the staining on these two soho bags - Thank you <333View attachment 6120690View attachment 6120693

Hi, welcome!! You’ll find reams of great advice on stains here. It’s often helpful if you can post photos of the creed inside the bag, to provide clues to what leather you’re working with. If you do know what caused the stains, that’s helpful to share too. Lastly, the search function up in the top right can be a great start — you can search by key words and limit it to “this thread” to find advice just here in Coach Rehab & Rescue. Glad you’re here!

Hi all, I’ve been reading through all of the wonderful rehab tips and would love to get your input on this project. Picked up a Lexington Brief 5265 online and discovered a small gash in the leather just below the clasp. Dunked and reshaped it. Once it was dry, I used Angelus leather filler mixed with their black dye to fill the gash. The pics show the results after 2 layers of filler. I did go over the entire bag with black saddle soap, hoping it would even out the color of the repair a little more. My goal is to have the repair blend in just a little better. Any suggestions? (Here are some before & after pics of the bag and it’s gash)IMG_8949.jpegIMG_8952.jpegIMG_9275.jpegIMG_9274.jpeg

That looks enormously improved! :) I usually go over repairs on black leather with some black leather dye on top. If it were my project, I'd also apply some leather dye to those piping edges of fading on the front bottom corners.

Wow what a gorgeous bag! And yes I can see that it’s going to be a challenge with all those nooks and crannies. My only suggestion is to try the kiwi horsehair brush to apply your cleaner/conditioner because it can get into those nooks and crannies without leaving big blobs of product. And to go slow and do very light coats so there is no build up in the grooves. Good luck! You are our woven leather pioneer, lol!

Round two, a little more aggressive this time.

Looking good! Yeah, it’s strong stuff — a def departure from my usual nontoxic approach to life. If it’s useful, I ultimately found that wiping with foaming leather cleaner after a good brushing off, and letting leather rest for a day in between every couple rounds, seemed to work pretty well. Like most products, it does seem to morph a little as it rests, at least on the camel bag. But you’ll find your own methods I know! Thanks for keeping us posted.
