Wow! That gross interior would have scared me away. Using nail polish on the studs is genius.
I could see the potential! I really like this style, Central Satchel F57513 with enameled studs. I think it retailed for $495. I should go dig out an extra hang tag for it. ETA: found one! Even with gunmetal chain.

Hi all! I haven’t been on this forum in forever but I’m rediscovering how much I love Coach and wanting to rehab and use all my older bags. I have a gorgeous gray Sabrina satchel that I bought in 2009 and carried quite a bit, and I’d love to get her looking her best again. I know she’s dry and also a bit dirty.

I’ve been searching but I can’t find anything on how to best clean and condition that particular line of leather. I have various products I’ve used on other bags and shoes (saddle soap, Chamberlin’s cleaner/leather milk/conditioning balm, Leather CPR) but am not opposed to anything else that I have to buy. Anything you can advise would be so appreciated! :)

Hows the CPR holding up? PM me if needed. I feel like I’m I am rejoining the land of the living.
I was ever so lucky to be given a bottle by he lovely Jane.
But also was were able to get a refill bottle from Amazon. There was a a special that if you spent over $49 US on product you got free shipping.
I managed to get the Big CPR and some Bick 4 and a few other things.
Still set me back about $115 NZ but was worth it to me.
I think you for the offer.

And I'm glad to see more of you.

How have you been?

I have a 2008 Sabrina. The leather is a bit shiny and wrinkly. I don't know if it is the same leather as yours. I used CPR on it.

Well if you run into the same situation as before, let me know and I will see if I can hook you up.
I am well 😊 thanks. Surgery, chemo and radiation are finished. A little (more) overweight, a bit out of shape, hair loss and some fatigue but strangely and I know seems crazy I feel like a million bucks sitting here with Corky, having coffee and reading posts here. Thanks for asking :flowers:

Sharing another rehab. I'm super happy with how this one turned out. Got this bag on shopgoodwill, it was vying for the filthiest bag on the planet. Sharing a few before photos. (Probably why no one else bid, and I got it for $12.99.) The studs were scratched, chipped, silver color showing through the black. Lots of fading and scuffs on the leather to the point I wasn't sure of the color. It's black now!

Process:
Dunked and scrubbed the lining hard with a pot scrubber in the soap. (Didn't do much.)
Scrubbed and de-gummed the bottom of the bag, used scotch tape to remove all residue.
Re-dyed with black dye.
Used heavy duty foam upholstery cleaner on the interior and scrubbed with a toothbrush and washcloth. I actually turned the whole bag inside out to work on it.
Fingernail polish enamel (black) on the studs. LOOKS GREAT!!
Leather CPR.

I love this bag. Interior stains/marks did not come completely clean...I hate to speculate about what was in there, but I'm happy with it now. It smells fresh, anyway. Bottom mark was gum of some sort, came off pretty easily. Here are some photos.
I never cease to be amazed by what others or I can do for some of these bags … You are extremely creative.
The details are appreciated. I think this thread is so undervalued for the amount of information offered here.

I've got a general cleaning question to post here! I recently got a burnished leather Coach bag (10316, Blue) and I am not entirely sure how to proceed with cleaning it and maintaining/conditioning it?

Online a brief search says to just cleaners made for burnished leathers, but I don’t see any out there. When it comes to conditioning, I see conflictive info. Some sites say to never condition burnished things others say they require regular conditioning.

Would appreciate any insight from fellow Coachies!

Thanks!

Thank you! I am creative. It's my thing.  Later today I'll share the new magnetic snap for a backpack I'm creating from a cut up belt (using the buckle).

I would condition it normally with CPR and possibly Blackrock. Burnishing usually means buffing it until the leather is super shiny. Your bag doesn't look especially shiny like my Bleeckers. Coach also called bags burnished when the color was applied intentionally uneven, darker at the edges. I think that is what they meant by calling your bag burnished. More opinions are welcome. You could always test conditioner on a hidden place before doing the whole thing.

+1. I was mulling over a response; I think I would so the same.

I thoroughly enjoy your peregrinations thru the rehabs. And you ARE creative - I too would have never even thought of black nail polish. That truly was out of left field :) I am also always surprised at what you are willing to tackle rehab-wise - bags I would be way too afraid to even touch.
