One more dilemma! I got this REALLY nice backpack... but! It's missing the magnet snap/buckle piece to close the top down. It was not disclosed in the listing (shopgoodwill.com). Does the buckle guy sell something that would work? Or another bag's part I can cannibalize? Suggestions? First pic is the pack, second pick is how it's meant to be. This item from ebay? https://www.ebay.com/itm/333239526422

I'm thinking all I would need is this part. And all that would show of it would be the buckle and the horizontal loop holding the top strap (still attached to the pack). I ordered it, from China. Takes 2.5 months to get here. Maybe I'll keep looking. Question is, will it fit?

Hello, everyone. This is my first attempt at cleaning saffiano leather, and I don’t want to screw it up. What is the best way to get rid of these black marks on my Park Carryall? Thanks!

I don’t have any saffiano experience but have done lots of Coach rehab. Until someone else replies … do you have any lightweight leather conditioners? Apply a little with a soft cloth and see if it comes off with that.
I have a citron Legacy Flap bag with a crinkled, sheen type finish and a water ? mark responded well to a wipe down with a solution of warm water and a few squirts of Lexol leather cleaner.

I have been in my Bantam Backpack for forever … and realized the magnetic closure is the same buckle style, where you can actually undo the buckle piece with the magnet from the strap tab! I wonder how that happened with yours?? Fingers crossed your order is a fit.
Do you go out thrifting much? It may be worth it to keep your eyes open for a cheap donor bag with the same closure.

Thanks! I like that idea. I need to go do some thrifting!

Another rehab. Vintage Metropolis zip. Classy bag!
If you have not used a Metropolis, I think you will love the size. Though they are more chunky than some other more refined Coaches, this style is truly a work horse. I have her in several colors, some of which need some work, but my very first coach, the black Metropolis still ranks as one of my faves.

Thanks for the comment about it being more chunky. I think that is what I am needing for a bag that is smaller than my old requirement of at least 8" x 11" ( needed between going to the office and carrying a long wallet) and you helped me put my finger on it ... after spending a lot of time in my Bantam bag, while I like, I wish it was a little chunkier. I like the Janice, which has width, but that zipper opening takes away a little from the potential roominess. And I wish the Legacy Rambler was a little chunkier too. I am ready to let my Patti's go and would like a slightly smaller alternative to the Oliver and City if I can make it work. Maybe I am just like Goldilocks ... haha.
Anyways, nice to be back here :wave:rambling on about bags. Think I will pull out something special for grocery shopping haha and post a pic.

I think the most important thing I learned on my Coach journey is my comfort with a handbag - something I never paid attention to when I just had to lug around a bunch of stuff. I'm not comfortable with a bag wider than 9.5-10", nor with a depth deeper than 8-9" but can handle a width quite a bit more than the ubiquitous 2-3".

Mods please move if this needs to go somewhere else.

Same! I love my Lunchbox 9991 for that reason: the capacity is front-to-back (chubby) but it doesn't look big. I have an Oliver and a Vista fixed up for sale: 11-12" wide is just too big for me. Gorgeous styles. If they were 20% smaller they would be ideal.

I got my Metropolitans with the intention of rehabbing and selling, but my gut tells me I'll regret doing that so they're going into circulation shortly.
