Everyone's passion to restore well-loved bags has really inspired me! I'm about to attempt my first rehab on this Ergo 9033 and I just wanted a second opinion before I start. I was planning to saddle soap and leather CPR but I'm a bit worried that the darker stains at the bottom of the bag won't come out. I am a bit scared to dunk because this is the first time I'm attempting to clean leather this deeply. I've also seen people using a pool noodle to reshape the handle but because of the season, pool noodles are a bit difficult to find. Are there any other alternatives to reshape the handle? Any feedback and tips are very appreciated!

I vote for dunk! Just be sure to do the vinegar/water rinse to kill mold. As far as reshaping the handle, it's not a big deal. I set the wet bag on a towel in the position I wanted and it stayed like that! Some bags I'll dangle them by the strap on the shower control knob. If you don't like one method of cleaning, or if it's not 100% effective, try something else! Do your saddle soap, if the stains are still there, you can still dunk.

If there is a pool store open, you may find a noodle, or get lucky at a Walmart, Dollar Tree or 5 Below.
Maybe try cutting up a flexible plastic cutting mat from Dollar Tree into a few strips for a custom fit.
My experience has been I never know what stains will or won’t come out with deep cleaning. I feel like others here have more success with removing stains than I do. At least on the bottom they are not as noticeable …

I'm a person who habitually carries EVERYTHING in a purse, so the style is small for me. I've got to learn to pare it down. I bring everything everywhere, "just in case." My current go to purse weighs a ton.
Omg before working from home this was me! And I held onto using a checkbook wallet combo for forever until I realized it was holding me back from enjoying smaller bags. My Patti’s (Patricia’s Legacy) in black and taupe were well used. I loved the slip pockets front and back for tucking ‘one more thing’ as I got out the door for work. For years I looked to buy vintage Coach that was at least 8” by 11”! If I wanted it for 9 to 5 days. The tish I carried!
Now my basics are a Vera Bradley tech pouch for little items and a wallet (I am down to a 4”x4”-ish size) and keys/car fob so I am good for using smaller bags.

PS: Gorgeous bag! I "thought" I bought a red ergo a few years ago. Then I misplaced it in the purse jungle. When I found it and finally had it authenticated: fake! I got an inky-purple one for my personal collection, but red was second choice. I did find a red ergo flap. And I liked this cream for the color loss corners:

Hello, all, and Happy New Year. I have a new bag to rehab that is unlike any rehab I've done before. Not super dramatic, but I have a bag from the Nautical collection from 1990 in white with navy trim and strap. I'm itching to dunk it, but wanted to see how dunking a spectator bag has worked out for others here. I did a search and see many replies saying there was no bleeding between the colors. I'm curious if anyone has had a different experience or any suggestions beyond the typical dunk, shape, condition, buff. Thanks for any inspiration.

I couldn't wait.....no bleeding! More photos as it dries.

Please! This is a style I could think about trying … a Duffle without the weight with a wide full circle opening

So, rehab interrupted by a four day visit from my granddaughter. (She loves to wear the coach hangtags as bracelets!) The bag was in pretty good condition before I dunked it. I've never dunked a white bag before and, as all of you know who've done this, marks on the surface emerged as it dried. I've used Leather CPR for multiple coats over a number of days and a bit of Renopur around the trim. I've gone back and re-read lots of posts about using zit cream on white bags and got some from Target. I will be trying this on the small marks on the white over the next few days. She's a beauty and I love the look!

There were lots more marks on the interior that mostly came off with the dunk. I guess I never scrubbed the bottom because marks like those on the bottom came off. Thinking of re-dunking, but not sure yet. I remember when the Caroline bags came out in 2012. I really loved the raspberry croc embossed Caroline but I passed because it was too expensive. It breaks my heart to see what was done to this poor bag; why would anyone treat such a lovely, valuable, object so badly?!

Green sling. I shared about the strange indents before. Bag is done. Marks would not leave entirely. Here are a few before, afters.

Scrubbing on white often has a negative effect as the dye doesn't go all through the leather for light colors. Sometimes you are removing color when you scrub. The zit cream will work on stains but not wear. So for those darker areas that are just the white finish worn off, zit cream will do nothing. Conditioning won't bring back the color like it does on darker bags that are dyed all the way through the leather. It looks pretty good. If you want or need it to be perfect you might have to use colorant.

Yikes! It's got measles!
whateve, do you know if it is possible to authenticate a new outlet product where the hardware is mostly wrapped? Really, I just have the creed and there is less detail on the creeds now vs legacy bags ... esp for outlet.

I've decided I want to pick up one of those Charlie Brown Christmas Coach collab bags and there are TONS of those, new, on every selling site which usually means mass produced fakes. But the products are recent and the creeds unique, not standard Coach creeds.
