Hello there fellow rehabbers
I haven’t rehabbed in a few years but my DIL wanted to learn over the summer and even though she didn’t stick with it, I have. I must say that rehabbing to me is sooo relaxing and I wish I had done it during the pandemic but it’s never too late, right? So I just finished rehabbing a ergo shopper and I still have a few scratches that’s haven’t smoothed out as much as I’m used to. Initially I used leather cpr and then used blackrock to soften the leather a bit more. Any suggestions you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks so much

Could you post some photos, please?

Hello fellow Coach lovers! A new to me, and I believe a bargain, Legacy Leigh 65th Anniversary Camel Vachetta.
It’s in generally very good condition but I would like to cleaner her up a little and spray with Collonil Carbon Pro waterproof. I usually use Collonil 1909 leather cream (for Mulberry and The Bridge bags) but have not owned Vachetta leather before.
Any advice most welcome - the photo of the front of the bag shows the true colour512560FA-E7A2-4201-A3A0-B39E27017FBD.jpeg7F4750B9-F822-4E1D-9E17-857882AF8252.jpeg2F8E11C4-7C8F-4141-AC38-5760BC23FC3D.jpegEA59D464-0E58-4DE1-A3DB-F535BA659FEF.jpeg

Vacetta is tough to clean. It is untreated vegetable tanned leather, which means that the leather absorbs everything. It gets spots and stains from everything it comes in contact with, and darkens with exposure to sunlight and skin oils.
I have a 75th anniversary Willis in vacetta, and when I got it there were denim transfer stains on the back. I was able to get them out with CPR and a damp cloth- which leads me to believe that Coach did not use true naked vacetta for these bags. The vacetta on my LV bag does not have any gloss- the vacetta on my Coach Willis does.
So all that means is that your bag is cleanable, but I don’t think I would dunk it. I tested the CPR and damp cloth on a hidden spot to test for stains before I did the rest.
Anyone else with vacetta experience can chime in

My cat clawed a British tan roll bag I have listed for sale and I used Black Rocks to try and reduce the appearance of the scratches/clawed areas. This has had the effect of darkening them, making them more prominent. Help! Any ideas?

My suggestion would be to go over the whole thing with blackrocks and give it a week to soak in and dry, then see where the scratches are. If they come back maybe try a dunk/cpr rehab to plump up the leather

Absolutely  The bag is black so it’s difficult to get a good shot and we have no sun here unfortunately but here are a few pictures. It’s really dull on this side as opposed to the front of the bag. Maybe another application of conditioner would help. Thanks so much.

I actually dunked a coach 11420 bag twice because I forgot about it the first time and it ended up stinky. Is that vachetta leather too? I’m sorry I’m new to this leather. I can say the stains which were some kind of liquid didn’t come out but it was really dry. I used leather cpr which didn’t seem to do anything, so I decided to use blackrock twice and was really happy how it turned out. No I know not to dunk this leather in the future
