ty for ur kind comments & likes- i will post some more pics & tell ya what i tried next- alcohol works great on ink- i had to really go after inside a bag & it left like a water mark- had to dunk this stinky bag with 3:1 vinegar- still stinky, did 1:1- not as stinky- really dried out the bag & faded the color, Mr stinky is airing out with cedar chips now- waiting for another product to intensive moisturize him. i will post pics of my stinky guy- he’s a NYC Compact Pouch in light brown. I have 3 more i’m working on- having fun with my obsession. Kinda thinking of a small business.

I decided to keep it and have started the rehab. Any ideas for when the badly worn D ring wears through?

They are quite rare now. I paid close to $250. The worn D ring is the major problem for me.

I think they will last many years. There is a solution a few pages back. Replace them with the screw on kind, like the hardware on a Willis.

Yes, I was looking at that post. I have some of those D-rings but the loops on the plaza bag look like they are too small to fit them .

Thanks - it's still super damp and I am applying lots of coats of CPR. I think it will need also need a touch up on the piping with the Kiwi dye you recommended. I will post some final pics when it is finished.

OK I'm going to bite on this. When you do replace these "fixed" brass pieces with the screw-in kind, how do you get them off?

Also related, for the square brass pieces they use to attach the handles, those are not removable as far as I know. I've got verdigris in between the brass and the handle and for the life of me, I can't get it out. I finally ordered something I remember from elementary school - pipe cleaners, to try to get a vinegar solution in there. TIA

Does anyone have a relatively simple method for getting off the clear coating that Coach put on its turn locks in 90's and beyond to protect against tarnish? The stuff is half on and half off a lot of my turn locks and looks terrible. I have scratched the turn lock front on this City bag trying to remove it (sorry - hard to see in the pix).

Lovely! Didn't I tell you the name when I authenticated it? It's a watermelon tote ruff out made around 1976.

You can brush the suede and condition the smooth leather.

The zipper pull is called a paper clip zipper pull.

This looks like a bag posted on offer I had asked about authenticating but didn’t hear back. Wish I would have snagged it but it sold. If it is the same exact one, I‘m glad it found a good home

Here’s my unicorn . Just got him. I’m scared to even clean him. His leather is very soft & supple. What would you do to this baby? The outside shadows are not soil marks. He’s a light greenish/ yellow- anyone have an idea age, color name? Have you ever seen this pull tab link? I have my ideas just want to consult the docs
