Actually I do have a Burgundy small shoulder bag that I dyed and quite happy with the result.
It has NYC creed, bag was very faded especially around pipping. I applied 2 coats of Feibing’s burgundy dye on damp bag, with 24 hours in between. Then conditioned with lots of CPR for several days, as the dye dried out the bag . It was set aside for about 3 month to let the dye worked it’s way deep into leather fibres, it was then dunked again to get rid of excess dye, following with CPR And black rock. No sealer was applied. The bag color looks quite natural. The last blurry photo is before , I only have a screen shot of the expired listing .

My goodness, that shoulder bag is stunning, @LunaSilver !!!! I LOVE your workmanship (as always!

I got this Aqua Waverly today - the seller said the bag is in excellent condition with no blemishes. Unfortunately there’s stains (oil?) and worn out leather on the back. I haven’t accepted the order yet because I can’t decide if I should keep it and work on it or just ask to return it. If I do keep it, I’m hoping I might be able to get the stains out - they bother me the most. As for the small patches where the color was worn off, I might try CPR and see if they fade a little (if I decide to keep it).
I’m leaning towards opening a case and sending it back. I bought this particular bag because it didn’t have any blemishes. The pictures were deceiving as well. I’m so disappointed!
Do any of you have suggestions on how to work on the stains or worn patches? Maybe spot cleaning with saddle soap or dawn? View attachment 5599997
I would not accept a bag that was "not as described". Also, in this case, this is a lightweight bag, which has thinner leather and is not as readily restored. It is also in a difficult to restore colour. Sorry, but I would encourage you to return it.
More opinions are welcome.
