*Grinning mischievously and madly*

Outdoor and indoor lighting for comparison.. The piping is just the tiniest shade darker for contrast.

That looks fantastic! I would love to learn how you did it if you don’t mind sharing.

Thank you for sharing your process, @Hoku44. Not only is the colour stunning, but your result is impeccable! :hugs:

I don't mind at all. The interior was dyed using a product called Jacquard acid dye. It's a powder and I use that as a dip dye method. I originally tried using a liquid suede dye by Saphir (Angelus makes the same thing) but applying those products affects the exterior leather and it's never even. Dip dye method is the best way to go for interiors.. Dip dye method is very similar to "dunking". I have learned that doing the interior first is crucial.

I use Leather Touch Up Dye for the exterior. It's an aniline dye and the product is expensive but worth every cent due to the results. It does not peel, chip or flake. It is an outstanding dye!! This color was mixed by me. They will create custom colors for you but you have to mail in a "swatch". I don't have the patience to mail something and then wait so I bought large amounts of their primary colors to create my own palette.

I use their aniline dye. Please feel free to ask me any questions.. It's a lot of information to take in all at once.
When you dip dye, do you turn the bag inside out? Does it matter if you get any on the exterior?

I have not turned the bag inside out as of yet although I will try this in the future. Not to sound dumb but is it difficult and damaging to the seams to turn it inside out? I've never tried.

I don't care if the color gets on the exterior - LTUD takes care of any ugliness on the exterior.

Thank you so much for sharing. I would love to try maybe when the kids are all back in school.

Idk. . Maybe a Regina.. I have accumulated too many bone bags without realizing how many until I gathered them all.

I would feel that I had died and went to heaven with that canvas of bags.

I buy a bag or two and immediately rehab and carry. If I dont like carrying it, it’s immediately listed for sale.
I am envious of other peoples rehab piles.

I have never had a rehab pile. I wish I did.

I have a few here that I don't love. I'm never inspired to do multiple dunks. I did that once and I lost track of how many coats of CPR I did on which bag as I didn't take notes.

I just redunked a bag because I got a spot on it. I'm not as motivated these days to make sure everything is perfect with a rehab. I'm not sure it looks as good this time.

I don't have a rehab pile anymore, except for a few I've sort of given up on.

Ladies I’m having a spot of mould issues specifically for some lined bags from my Madison collection. Does anyone have any tips on how best to resolve this issue? I only know of the vinegar+water fix but I’m not sure if that’s safe to use for this collection. Appreciate any tips you may have

I have safely dunked my Madisons with lots of vinegar in the water. Keep the dunk short so as not to alter the texture of the pebbled leather. I use a hairdryer on a low setting to dry the interior of my bags more quickly, shaping them with my fingers as I go. When sufficiently dry I stuff with clean cloths to retain the shape.

Store your bags in such a way that the leather can breathe, inside and out. For example pack with tissue paper rather than anything plastic. Good luck, kistae! :flowers:

Other opinions are welcome.

I finally just got my hands on a bone companion bag that was barely carried, and has the shorter 36” strap (and was in my price range). The hardware needs a little polishing - I’m working on that today. I’m using sunshine polishing cloths and it’s looking really good! The one on the left is done - it’s not a drastic change but I love how you can feel how smooth it is after the tarnishing is removed

The bag smells pretty musty and needs to be shaped, so I was going to give it a bath today. I’m a little nervous about dunking a bone bag - any thoughts or suggestions?

side note - the companion bag is one of my favorites, but I feel like I never see anyone talking about it! The chunky zipper makes me swoon lolB6BF8B02-A23A-43D7-861E-27631A0F110E.jpeg

The companion bag is a nice style! I love the outside pockets. I've never had problems dunking light colored bags. Just don't scrub. Use vinegar in the rinse to get rid of any mold.
