Yes I actually was mad as a hornet when I saw that bag. It is not a coach, because I could not find a snow white coach purse - I'm not even sure there is such a thing ? There are eggshell, off-white, light ecru and a host of other colors in coaches, but I have not run across a true white one. There is a possibility of putting a metal end on the strap (I do not know what they are called) and putting in some grommets, but I do not know if the leather shop can be bothered with that, or even how much it would cost to have it done.

I don’t know how involved you want to get, but Joann’s sells D rings and rivet kits for purse making. You could put a D ring on that strap with a rivet- or a dog leash clip. Would that help it be useable?

Thank you @pammbw but it is the other end that was cut - the end that goes into the buckle. I can turn back the end and try to sew it, since matching the hardware with an end tip would probably not be possible. I still do not know how to burnish the holes for the buckle prong, as again matching the grommets to the existing hardware would be problematic. (I looked up the "anatomy of a belt buckle and finally know what to call the parts :P) I did check Joann's but for this purse, no joy.

How short do you want it to be? Can you wrap it around the buckle end and sew it in place?

Just wanted to share the before and after of this bag I got. I decided to give it a shot, figuring I could live with the paint mark if it came down to it (shocker, I couldn’t). But a little rubbing alcohol took it right out, with no damage or discoloration to the canvas. I washed the area with a little Dawn and rinsed well. I’ll give it one more full wash before I put it away, but I’m so excited I had to share.9F33537F-84DB-4E74-8A18-ADECE293EC40.jpeg

I got my first Bella court last month and have fallen in love with it too! It was smooshed and needed a spa day. Looks brand new again. Your blue one is gorgeous! They hold more than I expected.

Thanks @whateve, I could do that but there would be no place for the prong and I can not remove that without messing up the buckle side. I have since found an issue on the buckle-strap as well, so I probably throw in the towel and just buy a new strap.

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great weekend!

I'm thinking about rehabbing this Sonoma nubuck backpack that I got the other day, and I was wondering whether I can do that without dunking? I've seen a couple of videos on YouTube and quite a number of posts here that went for the full water bath, but I don't think my heart can take it just yet  Of course, I'd be happy to try it out, but am just curious if there are other methods I can use.

I'm quite new to the wonderful world of Coach rehab, and I do apologize if this question has been asked many times. Thanks in advance!

Nubuc is one of the hardest things to rehab. Usually a bath results in better results on most rehabs but I've had stains that weren't visible before show up after the bath on nubuc. If you don't want to dunk and the nubuc needs cleaning, you can try Lincoln EZ cleaner. Follow the directions. You are supposed to shake it up and just use the foam, not the liquid, to clean with. I wouldn't put conditioner on it. After cleaning, once it is dry, the nubuc should be brushed. You will need a fairly stiff brush. I use a nail brush, the kind that is designed to scrub under your fingernails.

If you haven't dunked, you can pull the lining out to wash by hand with soapy water if you want. Don't let the wet fabric rest against the nubuc as it could stain. The fabric will get wrinkled if you get it saturated, so if it isn't very dirty, you might want to spot clean it. You can use anything that is safe for fabric.

Thanks for the tip! Do you think that the color will return after being cleaned? I have some spare suede dye in nearly the same color as the original but I won't be able to forgive myself if it turned out horrible :-s
