Hey everyone! First time, I want to keep my coach station bag going, but it has some holes... It may be unrepairable, but I thought I'd ask. Anyone have luck patching and painting for something like this?
Hey everyone! Update from my rehab, thank you so much for the advice!! And thank you whateve for the puffy paint recommendation, it worked well. It's not perfect, but definitely much better than where it was before

Hello everyone.
I recently bought a black hobo 9020 bag and gave it a wash. It turned out better than I expected.
It is small and cute and just about right for my size. Not much wear at all but I just realized after a few days that i could see uneveness under the light. I didnt notice it before because it is black. It is not rough to the touch and you wont see it if you dont scrutinized it.
Do you know what these uneveness are? They are all over one side of the bag.
If they are mold, do i need to wash it again, this time adding some vinegar to the water?

I have already dried it under the sun for a day.
Thank you in advance.
Edit : I could actually feel the indentation of the marks

Hello

I have been enjoying reading all the advice on here about restoring vintage Coach bags.

I am looking for some advice about water marks - I am hoping I can make this Nicholas 9946 bag (I think this is right) look better. It has a big stain on the front, as you can see from the photo of the inside (last photo), it was an ink stain that the previous owner has tried to get out. I was planning of dunking this bag and cleaning like the advice has said, but is this likely to reduce the mark at all do you think? I do not want to make it worse!!

Thank you

Work on the stain from the inside. Use alcohol or acetone. If a lot comes off on your cloth, then there is a chance it could bleed more to the outside when you dunk. Keep working at it until not very much comes off, then it would be safe to dunk. You could also try sanding it on the inside.

Ink can bleed so be careful. I’ve had some good luck removing ink using Amodex wipes. They even removed a stain I had on a silk dining room slipcovers I did not want to wash.

Hello Everyone,

Do you all think it is okay to dunk this bag? I am worried the glued on serial number may come off.

Also does anyone know how to prevent the leather splitting off on the edge of the metal clasp underneath it on the zipper pull tassel?

Thank you!

It's fine to dunk. The number won't peel off without a lot of effort. I've never had a problem with the leather splitting off the metal if it was in good condition to begin with. It looks fine in your pictures.

Is it only on one side? It kinda looks like indent marks from being stored against something

Were the indentations visible before you dunked the bag? It almost looks like the bag rested on a textured surface while drying, maybe a heavily textured towel or something similar. I had that happen once. I also used a mesh lingerie bag to wash a fairly large bag in the washing machine not realizing the texture would transfer to the bag due to its size filling up the lingerie bag.

It might have been there before I dunk it. It is black and I dunked it immediately after getting it, so I didn't really have a good look at it. I let it to dry standing on a chair under the sun. Didnt rest it on a textured towel. I just hope it is not mold.

This link for removing wrinkles from leather bags was posted on another site:

Yes! @LunaSilver taught me to remove/minimize scratches with amazing success!

Place something solid on the inside of the bag to offer resistance
Put a blob of CPR on the scratch
Heat the back of a teaspoon with a hairdryer on hot
Putting your weight behind it, press down and massage the scratch with the rounded side of the heated teaspoon in a circular motion

The CPR acts like a glue to adhere the leather edges together!

Please let us know how it goes! :flowers:

Thanks! I'm going to use this technique on this bag. It has a big scratch.
