I accidently replied to @Coachaddict4020 when I meant to ask you @Vb345 if it's a BT that you are doing a refresh on. And um.. If you want a BT to be burgundy or another color on the spectrum, it's possible. I did it buuuut results may vary!
Sorry for very late response I acually changed my mind. Originally I ordered saphir Juvacuir (cream color) to color refresh bone colore Chester bag but color does not match. So now I decided to redye it in a near future in black. My plan is to dye inside with dunking it in Rit dye bath for several hours to change inside color and use Saphir teinture to dye it black and Saphir Juvacuir in black to "lock in" color so it does not bleed. Anybody have any idea if juvacuir would be enough for that? I really do not want to use resoline as a top layer. I am hoping that Saphir products will still let me to condition leather in a future (as far as I understand resoline top layer prevents that)

I really can’t speak to the whole process you outlined but it sounds like an interesting plan. I have used Saphir Juvacuir to refresh a black Plaza that was in good shape to start and a black Pocket bag that was a bit worn. I used BlackRock after that and they are just fine. I can certainly use more conditioner as needed. I also used it for spot touch ups on a BT Compartment tote and that appears good for any additional use of conditioners. Other opinions are welcome.

Anybody used Saphir teinture dye before? Also, @LunaSilver you used Rit dye for the inside of the bag (loved your yellow bag) wgile back. Aas were any color transfer to stuff you put in a bag?
After this rehab I learned my lesson: unless bag is in a good condition, stay away from light color bags. I did not know that light color bags are painted and are way harder to rehab.

I chose a bone colored bag as my first real rehab. Big mistake! I know better now!

I used RIT (not on the bone bag I referenced above) and it dried out the leather horrifically and was blotchy. I have used Angelus suede and leather dye as well as Saphir teinture. I prefer the Saphir. I feel the colors on aniline leather is far more rich looking than Angelus.

@Hoku44 Did you have color transfer from suade dye inside?

The suede takes dye beautifully. If you're dyeing the bag the same color inside and out, the dye transfer is insignificant. Perhaps I am not understanding your outcome in some capacity but I'd like to!
Sorry for not being clear. I am worried that if dye inside of the bag black it will stain stuff I put in in ( in case you know I go back in time and want to keep white handkerchief lol ). I also wonder if I can dunk dye inside with Rit dye (no salt), have it condition several times over course of days or weeks ( this is gonna be a whole winter project) to help with drying out the leather and then dye outside again to even out color ( as people said here it would be blotchy from RIT).

No color transfer. The bag was submerged in Rit die mixture for many hours , then soaked with plain water to get rid of excess dye. After a couple month I washed it again, re dyed outer smooth leather with Feibbng’s leather dye. I won’t recommend Rit dye, it seems dry out the leather too much.

You can dunk in RIT dye, no salt, and not super hot water. It does dry it out a lot. I doubt you will get a nice dark black. It will probably just be gray. If you really want to dye the inside to match the outside, you should probably paint it on, not dunk. If you decide to use suede dye instead, I don't recommend Fiebings. The time I tried that, the color disappeared as soon as I brushed the suede, whether I waited a week or a month. That's when I switched to painting RIT on. If you use the liquid variety, it is easier.

Following this with interest as I have a tan Pocket Purse I’d like to dye navy (somehow in my newly acquired Coach addiction l ended up with 2 of them ). I was thinking Rit dye for the interior suede portions, and Feibings for the smooth leather, done in 2or more steps. Thoughts anyone ? I’m very new at this.
