I couldn’t stick to my bag ban (why do I even bother saying it?!) & impulse purchased this Post Pouch! Kindly authenticated by @Hyacinth

I put a lot of work into this bag. I removed all the verdigris, dunked it, CPR’d it, Renapur’d it, polished all the hardware, fixed the strap edging & used contact cement to tighten the stretched out d-ring loops. I don’t know where I found the zap of motivation but I just kept going until it was done!

That is AMAZING Coachaddict! What a beautiful bag it turned into! What did you put on the strap edgings? In the before pics they look pretty rough, but terrific in the after pics.

STUNNING!!!! A Holy Grail Bag!!!! :hbeat:

STUNNING! Holy canoli!

I wish I could get my blacks to look this rich. Ive tried all the popular conditioners and tried buffing. But mine always seem to end up looking lackluster.

Thanks! I applied Renapur & let it sit for a while before coming back to buff with a soft cloth (I only use a horse hair brush if I want shine). It might also be how many coats of CPR you do. I did 4 but I needed to conserve my supply so I couldn’t do anymore than that :shrugs:

Fantastic job! Congrats on highly sought after find! Still looking for one at my price range. Might take a while but I’m not in a hurry.

It was dumb luck! I happened to be scrolling on Ebay right as it was listed for $129 OBO. I sent an impulse offer of $100 for fun & the seller accepted within seconds. It wasn’t listed as a Post Pouch which might’ve helped . Sending good vibes that you find one within your budget!

Omg! You did an amazing job @Coachaddict4020! Wow! From beast to beauty. Awesome!

So I have a few bag clean-ups and a rehab to share.

First up is a British tan Willis bag. It wasn't dirty so I didn't want to dunk it. Instead I did some spot-cleaning on the bottom piping with saddle soap. That removed some of the color, but the color came back after two applications of CPR and a coat of Black Rock. The only area that remains without color is a small area you might be able to see on the bottom left corner of piping. The bag was scraped. I used to have a jar of brown Meltonian which I would apply in that area, but it seemed to rub off quickly and was not permanent. So I left it as a beauty mark. I also replaced the back of the turnlock with a part from the Buckle Guy. I polished the other hardware with Maas. Sorry but I don't have any before photos. I didn't think the transformation would be that dramatic, but the bag certainly does look a whole lot better.

O.k., here's the big project. The black City bag. After I bought it on ebay about 15 years ago the color was fading so I applied "black shoe polish" to the bag. Actually that shoe polish was black Meltonian. I found the jar in the cabinet after I started dunking the bag to get whatever I put on it off. I tried all sorts of stuff to get it off, saddle soap, Black Rock, and I finally dunked it in Dawn. I ultimately changed the water 8 times. Maybe someone put shoe polish on the bag before I applied Meltonian, I don't know. Here are some before and during pics:
