I have no idea how it works either, MB! Does the CPR act as a glue? Possibly. I just know that it is magical.

I would definitely try it on your rust Stewardess! It won't do it any harm, and may just be the answer! Be sure to take clear before photos and let us know the outcome!!!
Yeah, I'm going to have to try it! It's the only flaw that really bothers me about my Stewardess.

That is stunning and it will be more durable than the NASA collection!

Thanks! She has definitely had a long, great life already so I thought she would be good for this project. She's got all kinds of spots that didn't go away after dunking, tear where one side of the flap attaches, and a few other quirks, but it's a great bag. I would have never thought a beat up black Patti would be one of my favorites! Although I think I say every bag I own is one of my favorites :P

Super cute!! I love the addition of the little baby telescope!

The telescope was a lucky find!

Hi. Thought I'd chime in...I tried it on my red NY saddlery. The little holes did diminish somewhat, but it did darken the leather around them. I'm hoping with a bit of time, and a lot of buffing they will go away. I imagine that any leather darkening would go unnoticed on a black bag. Just proceed with caution.

A burgundy Stewardess is my idea of a HG bag!!! I can hardly wait to see it!!!
I have a few other bags I would like to do first. But I feel my rehab mojo kicking in so hopefully it won't be long. It's in very good shape. It was the quickest online buy I ever made. It had just been listed on a great BIN and I literally decided within 10 minutes. I had to bypass my 24 hour rule on this one. I knew it would not last and a good looking burg was on my HG list. I was open to style.

That's not good. I hope your bag recovers somehow!

I recently finished a Stewardess (K9C - 9525) for a friend, and having been a flight attendant for 27 years, I really enjoyed working on this bag!

That is really beautiful! How nice of you to do that for your friend. I have a lot of admiration for flight attendants and the entire flight crew. As a nervous flyer, I'm always reassured when I see the calm and collected crew around me.

Hello Ladies,
I'm new to this thread, to rehabbing and to Coach bags. I love old sturdy bags and I decided to go for it. I just got this Paris bag and I was wondering if you could guide me through the rehab.
Should I bathe it as usual? I'm worried about the wrinkles on the inside of the flap. Also, there are stains on the back. Not sure what type. I only have Apple Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner and Blackrock. Would these be OK or should I buy other products? Lastly, do I condition after the bag is completely dry or while it is still damp?
Thank you so much for your insight and willingness to share your knowledge!

I've used this method on 2 black and 1 red bag, but perhaps I got lucky with the red one. I agree that red bags are unpredictable and more challenging to work with!!! (I'm restoring 3 right now!!! Yikes!!!) I should mention that the red bag was straight out of the dunk when I used the spoon/CPR method. I wonder if the fact that it was very wet might have made a difference?

Here are the before and today of the small scratch on the red Side Pack.

(still wet from the dunk)

With no further work done to remedy the scratch, here it is this morning:

I will do some light colour refreshing to cover the 2 remaining white dots.

If it was my bag I would dunk it in Dawn dish soap and a big splash of white vinegar. You might want to use an eraser or suede brush to remove as much of the ink on the suede on the inside of the bag as you can before dunking, so that it doesn't seep through to the outside leather.

After the dunk I would condition and reshape as usual, then carefully use a hairdryer on the inside flap to see if it can be smoothed out. I've had good results with my Geometric Clutch, Bella Court and Casey which also had some wrinkles on the leather lining of the flap.:tup:

Most of us use Leather CPR and I always begin while the bag is still wet. I find it really sucks in the conditioner as it is drying. I've never tried Apple products so I'm afraid I can't comment on them.

Good luck and keep us posted! :flowers:

Thank you LadaZuri! What temp on the hairdryer? I will get the Leather CPR. I'm planning on bathing her tomorrow and post a pic.
