Update on my eBay case: seller refunded me all of what I paid, including shipping. I am happier now!

it’s like you read my mind, @LunaSilver. I just remembered the navy court you dyed navy and was looking at it prior to seeing your latest dye job. I do still have the green pro dye from the saddle 23. Was thinking of using that. What would you recommend to seal it with? I don’t want to your satin shene again :hrmm:
I don’t plan to seal it , just cpr it with microfibre cloth multiple times to take out extra dye as much as possible, then black rock it a couple times. I haven’t found any sealer that will both work & look well so far. As to color transfer, as long as bag not get wet, it won’t be a problem. Also many new bags bought from store , color will transfer when get wet, I don’t find a dyed bag after multiple times cpr and BR will be any worse with color transfer.

I was thinking of resolene maybe? Any experience with that? I read on Fiebings to buff out after the dye dries completely, but it rains in my area 90% of the year so I need something that won’t bleed.

My latest rehab, 4050 light weight collection Shoulder bag in Burgundy.
it was very dry and faded, color didn’t come back from dunk and conditioning. In fact a dark spot appeared on the front flap after dunk. (Didn’t take photos of before / in process). I end up color fresh the whole bag with Feibing’s Burgundy leather dye(usually prefer pro dye, but already got the regular dye on hand). The color of bag now is several shades darker, but it hide the dark spot on the flap and other stain marks well, so I am ok with that. The thing with leather dye is hard to control the shade of final color, it will be very depend on how much dye used. @lazysundays, I saw your speckled green court, it is possible to color fresh the whole bag with green leather dye, if you are generous with the amount of dye going to use, the green will be in darker shade, may be able to hide those darker spots. )Only if you out of other options, since things can go wrong with a dye job)

Do some research. I may remember someone not being happy with resolene.
I remember seeing a post regarding Resolene too. The poster not impressed with it. I don’t care about Resolene as well, make the bag very shinny and plastic looking.[/QUOTE]

It is quite nice, very unstructured and soft, I really like the front draw string pouch, as I never put anything into back slip pocket fear it may get stretched. Here is a catalog photo, @whateve recommend this bag a while ago.

I love the softness of this style. If only I could find one that isn't faded or stained.

Resolene isn’t good unless you have a spray gun that can distribute a “mist” of it evenly on the surface. Also, it’s very streaky & in general a bit of a PITA to work with because it’s very watery. I highly recommend it to re colour strap edges & touch up piping though, that’s the only thing I use mine for.

I was very hesitant to dye it, but after dunk and conditioning, the bag was looking worse, leather was faded from sun at certain area, and darkened at other area from usage, the contrast intensified with initial rehab. Now I have another dyed bag, lol… I keep all dyed bags myself, as no one would want to buy a dyed bag even if it is a decent dye job. Unless dirt cheap.

Interesting the dyed 4050 shoulder bag now is almost the same color as the Currant Companion Flap.
