It's good you used vinegar. Vinegar should have killed the mold, so most likely that mold was there all along. I'm sorry I couldn't see it in the pictures. Sometimes mold will grow in the package when it is shipped, so it is possible it wasn't as bad when the seller listed it.
Oh well… I could try opening a case with eBay. See what happens. :-s I’m really disappointed.:crybaby: This is the first bag I’ve had mold. Now if it only had nickel hardware, I could try dyeing it to currant…

Oh my goodness!!!! That's one of the most beautiful bags I've ever seen! What a stunning colour!!!

Thank you so much, @whateve! I will try @LunaSilver's method for the Tribeca as I've ordered the products. Maybe next time I'll do paint and CPR to compare the results.
It’s such a happy colour, I love it  I already took her out today. So lightweight too!

Thanks! It has some minor scratches, not too bad though. It really is adorable! I love all the slip pockets as well. This is the very first vintage coach bag that Im using on the third hole. All my other bags are on the shortest setting. Is your collegiate’s strap also a little shorter?
I think it is! I have it on the last hole (making it as long as it will go.) The catalog says 44 inch strap. A lot of others are 48 inch.

Generally buyers always win return requests for not as described as long as they haven't altered it.

i’m soooo excited to be getting this bag ! anyone had success with rehabbing a older coach ( not too old but it has the glued on reg.number )
what did you use to clean and restore it ?

You can do the regular bath and conditioning. Just check the handles first to make sure there aren't any holes in the stitching.

Have you done a dunk before? If not, it is described many times in this thread.

Yes! Several of of us have dunked this exact style and it came out just fine. There are hundreds of posts and many tips on this forum that you can go back and read. Members are here to help and share wins and fails as well. In post 33,648 (sorry that I don’t know how to link to it) of this forum, someone else asked about dunking this bag and im sure before then also. Good luck!

My Collegiate is finished! Im pretty happy with the overall results. I did my regular hot water dawn/vinegar bath, 5 coats of CPR & 2 of Renapur. I buffed with a horsehair brush this time. I also cleaned up the strap edges with Resolene as well as touched up the piping on the back near the bottom where there was some colour loss. Turn-lock was replaced with a spare

why did you switch out the turn lock? I did that with my saddle because I couldn't be bothered to polish and had a spare I had already done ages ago lol

My latest rehab, 4050 light weight collection Shoulder bag in Burgundy.
it was very dry and faded, color didn’t come back from dunk and conditioning. In fact a dark spot appeared on the front flap after dunk. (Didn’t take photos of before / in process). I end up color fresh the whole bag with Feibing’s Burgundy leather dye(usually prefer pro dye, but already got the regular dye on hand). The color of bag now is several shades darker, but it hide the dark spot on the flap and other stain marks well, so I am ok with that. The thing with leather dye is hard to control the shade of final color, it will be very depend on how much dye used. @lazysundays, I saw your speckled green court, it is possible to color fresh the whole bag with green leather dye, if you are generous with the amount of dye going to use, the green will be in darker shade, may be able to hide those darker spots. )Only if you out of other options, since things can go wrong with a dye job)

Update on my eBay case: seller refunded me all of what I paid, including shipping. I am happier now!

it’s like you read my mind, @LunaSilver. I just remembered the navy court you dyed navy and was looking at it prior to seeing your latest dye job. I do still have the green pro dye from the saddle 23. Was thinking of using that. What would you recommend to seal it with? I don’t want to your satin shene again :hrmm:
