These are the same Aussies who elected a PM (or whatever his title is) who doesn't believe in Global Warming or that humans are responsible for climate change??? Or am I thinking of some OTHER bloody idiot?

Oooo, and I think I found a way to get around NZ's very tight restrictions on foreign immigration. I'll list you as my employer and my job as Purse Nanny. You can always tell the Government form-sniffers that it's just a typo and it should say "Nurse Nanny". After all, vintage Coaches are like children, they need lots of TLC and the occasional bed-time story. Right?
Purse nanny!!

It's genuine but I can't find the ebay listing or the seller for some reason.

The color looks like Mahogany.

Morning,

Kindly authenticated by @Hyacinth and @BeenBurned here’s my Patricia. She only needed the basics...dunk, a few coats of CPR, Renapur and polish. She was finished before my Blackrock stash arrived...

Haha good luck! Thanks - are these yard/garage/estate sales listed online or something? How do you know where to show up? I want to maximise my time in the states. Haha!
Keep in mind that what I know is all pre covid so things may change now. Peak Yard sale season here in the mid Atlantic area of the states is May or September. I usually find out about them from Facebook, or just signs up at busy intersections. When I was a kid we would pile in the car and cruise around on Saturday mornings looking for yard sales. Of course last year there was nothing because of covid so we'll see what happens this May.

Flea markets are usually every weekend all summer. Google may be helpful finding them, but again not sure how covid will affect this. They are usually outdoor so I'm hopeful they will be allowed this summer.

You might be disappointed in SoCal thrift stores. From what I've seen lately, Goodwill stores pull all the good stuff and sell it online. LA area thrift stores are pretty bad. I almost never find anything there. There are a few good stores in Van Nuys. I've gotten quite a few things in Escondido. There is a flea market a few times a year in the Rose Bowl, but it costs so much to get in and park that it really isn't worth it.

This is true. I watched the very long lines of folks donating boatloads of stuff when the stores reopened and got so excited that there would be lots of wonderful stuff in the stores- so I kept coming back, and back, and back. Finally gave up. Just crap. Nothing good. I saw the line of cars to donate, and knew that very very little of that was making it onto the sales floor. I even asked- where is all that stuff?? They said it was "quarantined" yeah right. Quarantined right to shopgoodwill.

I don't live in LA. I hate LA! I live in central Cal. We used to go to LA several times a year for doctor's visits and hit thrift stores on the way home. Our doctor retired right before covid hit so we have no reason to go there anymore. DH said we did good in OC, but I can't remember buying anything there. Try to go to Valley Thrift stores. They are part of the Red, White and Blue chain, which is a great chain. http://redwhiteandbluethriftstore.com/thrift-store-locations/
The Red, White and Blue chain has a store I go to that is 20-25 ride away from me! I found my current Coach Wallet there for $10 and few of other minor Coach scores. And a lot of clothes over the past 10 years or so. My girlfriend practically lives there to source her eBay store.

Thank you for your advice. Oh, how annoying! Times are changing and I don't like it!!! Haha.

Ooo, sounds cool. I'll just have to visit with zero expectations and enjoy the shopping and tourist experience :D and anything I find will be a bonus!

I follow Its Hadrian on youtube and he finds loads of great bags but I dont know where he is in california. He goes a lot to the EcoThrift(veteransthrift) and Crossroads.

I do too and he usually tells us where, such as the Goodwill in Huntington Beach and RARE in Anaheim. I actually badgered my American family into going to RARE but he didn't find anything:-(. He visited three stores in OC and he found one item but I'm not even there myself so I'm grateful and excited to have a little pile of bags and CPR/BR awaiting my arrival, haha!

Hi Everyone! Newbie to the group, so much I’ve already learned, thank you all! I have a question about a nylon Mercer I recently picked up. (7412 to be exact) The leather has seemingly torn along the stitch line. I’ve made small repairs in the past and I’m prepared to invest some time and patience on this, my question is, am I able to repair this tear like this (it’s ok to start laughing lol) and is there something I’m able to do to make it stronger at that particular point of the handle? Any insight would be very much appreciated! Thanks all!
