Ok guys ..advice please.
The Bleeker bag I got today has turned out to have been painted. I knew the bag was dirty but had no idea it had a colour touch .
Which is the best to use on these bags...acetone?

I was able to remove what was on my black court with acetone & cpr as @aerinha suggested. Maybe try cpr first, if it removes the colour touch up, no need to use something harsh like acetone. Also, as I mentioned in the black court post, the leather colour is slightly uneven now (probably from the acetone) so take it slow & try to do the wipe down as evenly as possible. How bad is the touch up? Is it very stiff?

I rehabbed my carousel yesterday & When I flipped the inner pockets inside out, I found out what the ridged handles are made of. Pressure treated wood! Half the company name was there followed by “230 pressure treated”. I thought that was super interesting & is probably the same thing coach used inside any items that feel like there’s cardboard or plastic underneath the leather. The piece was very thin to give it flexibility. Vintage coach thought of everything lol

Was the square sewn inside the pocket or on the inside panel under the zipper? The latter is common in a lined vintage bag. If it was sewn by mistake inside the pocket, that would be interesting but hard to tell from the pictures.
Under liner floating around, it just happened to be where I grabbed the pocket to invert it. That was sweet of them to provide us with repair material.
Thank you

Interesting, is it exposed in plain sight? Or stitch or glue was undone?

Interesting... There are warnings with pressure treated wood, you ‘re not supposed to burn it, for example. I wonder if it’s the same kind or different.

Luckily I won’t be setting my bags on fire anytime soon lol!

Yea, I was also wondering if the wood in the bag would still be considered “safe to use” by today’s standards. I don’t think it will be an issue since the parts you come in contact with are leather & not the wood itself.
