I was hoping my burgundy Saddlery would get here today, but alas, they forgot to put her on the truck this morning. Instead, I will show you my flannel gray saddlery and a study in conditioners. I put many coats of renapur on her after I dunked, but the scratches and stiffness just wouldn't let up. Got some blackrocks and, well, it’s alot better, becoming softer with every application. Scratches won't budge though but its ok.

Did this bag become softer after more Blackrocks? Do you have Leather Therapy and Restorer? The reason why I’m asking is because I have a gray NYC bag (the skinny flight bag) that’s super stiff. I know some bags are naturally more stiff but this one is like... cardboard. I’m deciding whether I should try buying it and using it on it because my preference is for floppier leather haha. I haven’t dunked mine yet but been putting on multiple coats of CPR before washing and it’s not letting up.

I put quite a few coats of renapur and blackrocks on my gray saddlery, also she sat in a warm room. It seems that blackrocks made her softer. I also brushed the suede, which helped as well. Ive used leather therapy before, on wet leather that wasn't really worn, and it worked great, but i found if the leather was worn and rough, leather therapy left the leather kind of sticky, especially after multiple coats.

I will never do an auction with the make an offer option again. Auction with BIN, yes, with offer, nope. Someone made a decent offer that I would have taken once I was up, online and saw it, but then someone pUt in a bid which apparently cancels out the offer option. I didn’t know that.

I think I’m going to get it to try. All my NYC bags with the exception of 2 have this common stiffness to them even after multiple coats of cpr/blackrocks/renapur combo, as well as brushing the inside suede and a lot of buffing the outside inbetween conditioning. The skinny flight is the worst though! It’s probably from being left to die in the depths of a closet for many years, haha.

I wondered about that. I think the BIN goes away also if someone puts in a bid. It depends on the BIN price.

I just started polishing the hardware on a NYC bag today and got a little freaked out because it looked like silver was starting to peek through (even though I know it's solid brass). Turns out the actual color is like a light silvery gold, for some reason it seems much lighter than the hardware on any of my other bags. Anyway I'm not done yet but what a difference already - and all it took was half a bottle of Brasso and my entire morning

Looks great! And you have the nautical hardware with anchors!

It’s beautiful! And sounds therapeutic. Only thing is that now you’re committed to polishing it all that well

I did this with leather therapy - ruined a very, very vintage all leather LL Bean bag and cracked it all over. Still makes me sad to think about it and now I'm scared of Leather Therapy.
