I have done about all I can do with the periwinkle lunchbox. This is where it started:

using recolorant mixed with a creme remained a bit gritty feeling and wiped off when I got CPR on it. So I bought blue jean recolorant. Using it straight was too blue Once dried on the leather. I mixed some light gray and dark purple in and got a little better of a result. I wound up pairing the handle too which was part of the mess I mentioned last night.

Here is is after

It came out pearly looking and I don’t know why. End of story is that it looks better than it did and I am done messing with it before I make it worse.

I do think blue jean with the right gray and purple mixed in is the key. Maybe use a darker gray than what I had.

I will say again...I like the two tone effect with the piping...looks completely intentional.
Nice and bright and cheerful.

Has anyone tried dunking a 9043 Geometric bag?
I just got a black one, and the leather definitely feels really soft. I am also wondering the top flap that comes up has a hard material to keep the structure in place. I wonder if what's inside is waterproof? The last thing I would want is for it to be damagedView attachment 4785223
I dunked two with no problems.

If anyone would like to try rehabbing an Italian Coach Madison bag see the link below. I believe that it is a genuine beechnut Pierre bag from around 1994 (?) but it hasn't been authenticated. Pierre bags have 2 main zipper compartments, an outside slip pocket, and an interior zip pocket.

The bag is listed for $19 (plus shipping) or make an offer. It appears to be in pretty good shape except that there's a bad tear in the cloth of the inside zipper pocket.

I've been buying quite a few vintage Coaches over the last two weeks and finally decided which one I wanted to do a color change on. I'm going for a deep wine color and just got my first coat on. Should I add some more plum color to the mix for the next coat? I like the first coat to be a bit lighter than I want the finished project to be when starting with a black bag. Haven't decided if I'm going to do a different color or finish on the piping though.
