I used to own one. I don't recall dunking it. It was black and in pretty good shape so I only conditioned it.maybe @katev ?...or has @houseof999 done one of these?

Has anyone tried dunking a 9043 Geometric bag?
I just got a black one, and the leather definitely feels really soft. I am also wondering the top flap that comes up has a hard material to keep the structure in place. I wonder if what's inside is waterproof? The last thing I would want is for it to be damagedView attachment 4785223

I watched some YouTube videos about Terrago dye when I was looking at dying my Devon! It looked like Terrago was more like paint, so I chose not to use it. In a lot of the videos I watched, they used Fiebing’s dye in between the preparer and the Terrago dye. The self-shine dye kits don’t need a sealer, from what I’ve read.Has anyone used Tarrago Dye before? I bought some and while the box comes with a preparer it doesn't come with any sealant. There are no instructions to seal the dye either once it dries.
I am working on the Maghony Stewartness again. It was dunked about 2 months ago, when leather got wet the horrible smell was so shocking, imagine the smell of strong formaldehyde with rotting flesh undertone. I think the cause was improper tanning process, formaldehyde was commonly used in tannery in the past. I was hoping the smell will go away after washing with soap and vinegar, but the dunk did very little to the smell. After drying, the horrible smell faded dramaticly, but still strong enough thus the bag was not usable.
I was thinking about what to do with this bag for the past 2 months, it looked beautiful, leather was soft, just plain stink.
After lots of searching online, eventually I decided to desinfect the bag with over the counter 3 percent hydrogen peroxide. First sprayed the dry bag with straight hydrogen peroxide till bag was evenly wet, then poured 2 bottles of hydrogen peroxide into sink and soaked the bag in it. I had to turn the bag frequently since there was not enough to submerge the entire bag. After about 5 minutes, drained the sink and rinsed the bag thouroughly, then soaked it in vinegar water for about 5 minutes.
It is stuffed with towels and drying in basement right now. Hydrogen peroxide killed the smell almost imadiately, so far so good. Although it may do some damage to the leather, but better than throw away a otherwise nice bag.
I also believe hydrogen peroxide will eliminate other bio smell such mildew and mold too. Will post the final result when the bag is dry.
The Stewardess bag is completely ordour free now. After dunk with straight hydrogen peroxide, the smell was initially gone, but returned a little bit the next day while bag was still damp. Although it was within normal smell of leather range, I did not want it to get any worse, so I hanged it inside the garden shed where it would get filtered sun through sun roof, there she stayed for about 1 month. Its all in on that bag now...lets hope it works for you. Will be interesting to see how it runs out.
You could dye it afterwards
It just sits on top, it is not a penetrating dye so it doesn’t need a sealer. I just used Saphir juvacuir and it needed a buff and some CPR and it was good to go.Has anyone used Tarrago Dye before? Thank you, it looks wonderful btwI recently rehabbed a Tangerine Geometric Bag 9043 and there were no problems with structure. I gave it a bath and it survived just fine, see the link below:

Aolbout 95% complete, my first ever attempt at rehabbing a non-vintage, lined bag. I had found this Bleecker XL Flap in bottle green for $42 and the leather was on the dry side and squished, but it had life left in it. So here it is before, during, and after a dunk, 5 coats of Leather CPR, and...forum.purseblog.com
They are a lighter gold finish and very shiny, not a perfect match to the vintage brass. I didn't personally like how the one I had looked so I passed it on, but that's just a personal preference.Does anyone have brass hangtags that coach gives as replacements? I ordered some but now Im wondering if they’ll even match the vintage hardware. Can anyone confirm that they do? Thank you!
You ordered some? Last time I tried , was told they wouldn't ship to Canada.Does anyone have brass hangtags that coach gives as replacements? I ordered some but now Im wondering if they’ll even match the vintage hardware. Can anyone confirm that they do? Thank you!
I just ordered the hedgehog - so cute. Love your pirate! Can’t believe it’s free shipping from Japan - how long did it take to receive it?

ETA: I don't use hangtag on my bags any way, just keep the tags incase rehome them in future.
I really can't remember, it was years ago. I've ordered many items from other Japanese sellers and they get delivered quickly. I'm on the west coast; I've actually gotten a bag from a Japanese seller in 2 days, quicker than it would take from an east coast seller.I just ordered the hedgehog - so cute. Love your pirate!
