I don’t know what to do on 2 fronts with my dyed Stewardess. 1. I think I could use a bottle of Cpr and she will stay stiff due to the dye. 2. While most of the bag is still nice and black, the front flap either didn’t take as well or due to use, the dye wore off. Any solutions to either of these?

So I ordered Renapur and it gets delivered tomorrow (yay prime shipping). Are you supposed to coat the bag, remove the excess and then buff? or do you just take a tiny bit of Renapur, work it into the bag and then just let it be? I use mink oil but I found some of my stiffer leather bags are very dry even after 2 coats so I wanted to try a waxy conditioner to see if it helps at all

I usually rub renapur over each side of the bag and then rub it in/off but others may have different techniques. I put small amounts of BlackRocks on a section at a time, rub it in and then immediately wipe off the excess.

Yes, yes, even the Courts and Plazas need attention. :blah: It was a chore, but I managed to squeeze in a rehab for them in between building a mile high pedestal for my Pony and a custom lighted curio for my rust Stewardess. Sniff.
 You crack me up! I'd probably really do that if I found a Pony...at a reasonable price point, in a great color and excellent condition to boot! I think my face has been a subtle shade of envy green ever since you got it.

Maybe try softening her from the inside by brushing the suede, it helped my Dinky.
I'm no help on the dye front. I think the obvious solution would be re-dying it, though I guess this might turn into a thing where once you start, you have to treat the whole bag. Or maybe a recolorant would work for that sort of thing, like Saphir Creme Renovatrice. I have no experience with that whatsoever though. I'd be worried that the finish wouldn't match the rest of the bag.

Good things come to those who whine on the internet! Got an unexpected message today saying to come get my Dinky strap. I had been expecting to wait at least five weeks!
The spaghetti tube turned out wider than I thought, but it looks and feels very reassuring and actually provides a bit of padding. The cracks were distributed over an area of maybe three inches and they extended the tube a little to make it symmetrical. It isn't even that noticeable when worn.
I'm especially impressed with how well they matched the color. The piece of leather they used was very light and they darkened it with multiple coats of leather oil.
Here's a before of the most severe cracks and an after repair:

Hi ladies, I just received my Patricia’s Legacy purse and I realised that the rings on the strap have verdigris peeking at the edges. This wasn’t disclosed when I purchased the bag but it’s literally the only flaw. I’ve been using nail polish remover and cotton buds to dig them out, but I was wondering if there’s a better way to clean up the hardware? Thanks in advance!

@Morgan_Bellini suggested brasso to me for verdigris and it helped it come right off! Just make sure you condition the areas the brasso got on afterwards because it does dry the leather :) I used cotton swabs to apply and a cloth to wipe after

Thank you for that  I’ll order some Brasso and give it a shot. Can’t wait to have the gunk completely removed.

Be really careful using nail polish remover, it has acetone and will deglaze the leather, ruining the dye/color. I use vinegar to remove verdigris.

Yasss! Brasso is AH-mazing! You can use plastic wrap around the grommets to protect the leather. I use extra gentle painter's tape (the purple tape) sometimes too. Plastic wrap is a little safer though.

It is a really pretty Pony. I can't wait to clean it and carry it. It's in such good condition that I worry it's fake even though it was authenticated and I absolutely trust the authenticator. It just seems too good to be true! It looks like it was VERY gently carried. The piping and leather is in pristine condition.

Yes that happened when I used it to remove white paint spatters (very odd) from another bag. So I’ve lighter spots in those areas thanks to the acetone but luckily it’s not in obvious areas.

Also, I wanted to mention, if you plan on dunking the bag, use the brasso to remove the verdigris first before the dunk. The dunk helps remove some of the dryness caused by the brasso as well
I’ll dunk the strap for sure post-brasso treatment. It needs it!

I’ll have to rustle sth up. I think I only have scotch tape and washi tape. Might give those a shot and see.
