Does anyone have an opinion on the Coach leather cleaner (not the conditioner)?
Coach leather cleaner is on sale for $5 on the Coach site with free shipping. Since my vintage Coach bags are so bad I always need to dunk them - so I don't know if the cleaner is worthwhile.
I have some. I only bought it to get an order up to the amount to get a discount. I think it works a teeny bit better than Lexol but I hate the bottle. A spray bottle is so much easier to use. I have to make sure I don't knock over the bottle before I put the cap back on. I only use it once in awhile, not for a rehab.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could remove these spots and splotchy areas from this City? They became more noticeable after dunking! I’ve tried everything I can think of, including dunking again, cleaning, moisturizing and heat. Thanks!
It sure looks like mold. I've never been successful in removing mold stains.

I've just finished 2 rehabs, they were both pretty easy.

The first bag is a dark brown Geometric Clutch 9044 that was made in Costa Rica in 1998 and authenticated by @whateve. The bag was in good condition but the hardware had issues with verdigris.

I removed the turnlock and soaked it in vinegar and I gave the bag a bath and stuffed it with towels to shape. Next I conditioned with Leather CPR and Black Rocks and scrubbed and polished the hardware. It's a cute bag that can be worn as a clutch or as a crossbody via a hidden strap, and it has a back slip pocket. The first 2 pictures are before and the next 3 are after rehab.

The second bag is also from 1998 and it is a red Lexington Satchel 4187 that was authenticated by @whateve and @BeenBurned. These bags came in red, brown, and ink (and possibly other colors?) They were made both in the Dominican Republic and in Italy, and my little red bag was made in Italy.

The bag was is good shape, there is slight discoloration on the bottom corners and handles but not bad. I only had to dunk, stuff, moisturize with Leather CPR and Black Rocks, and polish the minimal hardware -so it was very easy.

The only problem was that it is missing the original red, leather hangtag. I selected this nickel hangtag because matches the hardware and it has the same logo and font that are stamped on the front of the bag. It's a cute little red bag that looks like it can hold a lot. The first 2 pictures are before and the last 3 are after rehab.

So beautiful, your touch to the bag works wonders like always

Yes I feel the same way. They're either dropping big bucks or getting smokin' deals or they're both a sorceress because all of their bags are stunning! And their rehabs come out looking like they had a genie make them brand new.

Thanks but I try not to drop big bucks because my rehabs are not always successful. I've just posted pics of a Geometric Clutch that I got at Goodwill for $10 and a Lexington Satchel that was $21 shipped on Mercari. Sometimes I spend more because I really want the bag, but I try to keep the prices down - but that's getting harder to do!

@valv54 is like a magician pulling rabbits out of hats...finds these beauties and just amazes everyone.
@katev is the same...finds such elegant bags.

Thank you, but right now I am struggling with a failed rehab that I abandoned years ago - and so far the bag is winning - again! I will let you see how it comes out no matter what happens!

If it is mold, sometimes vinegar helps.

What did you use to condition? Sometimes adding Black Rocks to finish helps even out the color.

Sometimes just waiting helps. I have had a few red or BT bags that looked worse after dunking and conditioning but I put them away for awhile and eventually the worst spots faded.

Right! When I mentioned vinegar I was thinking that it may help stop the mold from spreading, but if it is mold then vinegar won't remove the spots. Black Rocks might darken the bag a little to make them less obvious.

Hitting a mental road block with my current rehab. Dyeing a red bag black. I'm probably done with the dyeing and having a hard time moving to the next step which is Resolene. I just don't want to sacrifice the classic feel and sheen of the leather. Probably going to stop at this point and just think about it for a little while. Is it going to be absolutely necessary to use a sealant?
