Hitting a mental road block with my current rehab. Dyeing a red bag black. I'm probably done with the dyeing and having a hard time moving to the next step which is Resolene. I just don't want to sacrifice the classic feel and sheen of the leather. Probably going to stop at this point and just think about it for a little while. Is it going to be absolutely necessary to use a sealant?
I've heard bad things about resolene. I think some people have gotten better results with diluting it.

When you say better results, as opposed to what? Are you referring to the shiny finish, like they got a less shiny finish by diluting it? I think I will likely dilute 2:1 water to resolene but I have no idea how many coats it will take and how to know when to stop.

I believe diluting helps prevent the overly shiny finish.

I stopped when the dye stopped rubbing off on a cotton ball after the resolene dried. I've read of some people being fine after conditioning it and letting it dry (no resolene), but I was afraid the dye would start running if it ever got wet.

I bought the older blue Coach bag from the Oregon Humane Society! It will be my oldest bag. I probably paid to much but I love the Humane Society so we'll just call it free purse with donation

I like that bag! I've never seen one exactly like it. Helping a good cause and getting a free rare vintage Coach purse...can't go wrong there!

I was seriously considering to break my bag ban and buying it . Good thing we didn't compete with each other. Glad it is one of us got it.
ETA :I am an animal lover too.

same....it was on my list as well...I love it when interesting bags go to our fellow members...then we get to see the rehabs without having to do the work.
Missed out on a red ergo shopper so just wonder if one of us got it.

I believe Vals secret is she puts it close the the computer fan and they dry quicker.
We are heading into winter so my rehabs are taking longer to dry. Now that we have the fire going they will have a seat near it to dry.
I forgot you are Southern Hemisphere and was wondering why you were talking about winter as we head into summer lol.
