So, I found a purple Kimball! I purchased it from the same Mercari seller that another member got the awesome purple sling bag from. That lady must really love purple!
She's in a bath right now; good shape except for some loose stitches on the handle.

Woo hoo, I was wondering who got that purple kimball! I’m glad it was one of us. I’m the one who got the purple sling from her and yes, I agree that she must really love purple... so much so I was tempted to ask if she had any more purple bags she wanted to sell! A purple bag for you... a purple bag for you... a purple bag for everyone!!!

I got my black Station bag today, opened the box with gloves on just kind of dumped out the bag, threw away the box and gloves and then dunked the bag immediately. This is a replacement for me because I sent the one I just finally finished rehabbing to my mom. I don't think this one will need more than a bath and conditioning. It's from 1996 and isn't stiff at all like the two late 80s ones I've had were. I'm still working on a sad late 80s some kind of tan colored one. It's super dry and just ugh. It had a hard life. Anyway I'm sure I'll carry the black one I just got but I may just admire the tan one because it kinda looks like Indiana Jones dragged it through the temple of doom. LOL
Are you me? I just opened a black station with gloves on and then threw away the box and gloves! I did not dunk it though, so it is laying out in the floor in the unused dining room for a few days. Also from 1996! It is a replacement for another black station that I always felt was very lackluster with creased corners and the leather just never did impress me. Too shiny, too stiff, no buttery feel.

Jinx!

That's too funny! Well, mine seems like it's pretty buttery this time. I hope yours is too!

I found a bag in my rehab pile that may have shoe polish on it, dang! It has been a long time since I've tackled a bag that has been shoe-polished so I'd appreciate some advice from a rehabber that has worked on this issue more recently, thanks!

Not everyone agrees with me but I find that the later 90s bags I've had have softer, more supple, leather than the earlier bags.
