Finished the double kisslock BC swing today.
It was in good condition before rehab other than one leather crack at the strap. This bag has a Coach story patch but no registration number, so it was made around 1974, either the same time or shortly after Bonnie Cashin left Coach.
I conditioned it twice in a week before dunk. After dunk, shape, condition once while damp (avoid condition the cracked leather area so later glue could bond better). After reinforce the stitches,I used E6000 glue, use a needle head pushed glue under the leather around the crack, cleaned any excess glue, then used a plastic cloth pin to hold the joint together, and left it ovenight. The next morning carefully removed the cloth pin without disturbing the glued joint. The pin sticked to the glue just a little bit as glue not cured yet, but it probably will be hard to remove after 72 hrs. After examining and happy with how things looked, I put the cloth pin back to hold the joint again, and left the bag alone for 3 days. Touched up the glued crack with fabric paint, left it to cure for about a week. Finally finish with 2 more application of CPR and 1 application if Saphir leather balm. Picture here are before.

Ohhhh its looks fabulous....I am so jelly...now I wish I had bought it myself but I dont think I would have done nearly as great a rehab as you have...fixing that join would have had me stumped.

And she looks lovely next to her cousin....am so glad you got her.

Hello
I need help with a Willis rehab any ideas on how to fix the exposed end of the dowels.View attachment 4732239 View attachment 4732246
Are you sure it is authentic? Fakes often don't cover the dowel with leather. It is unusual for the leather for fall off. The proper way is to get a piece of thin leather and cover the dowel. The easy way is to use fabric paint.

I am sure you could fix her nicely. You always be able to bring out the best of a bag. I am not nearly as patient as you. Thanks again and I will take good care of her for you..lol
