I finally have my late 80s Station Bag ready to carry (and no place to go.)
The bag was very faded and dry when I got it in November. I dunked it months ago and just kept putting conditioner on it and it never seemed to get better. So I decided to dunk again. This time I started with the CPR within a couple of hours, hoping to trap in some moisture and it seems it worked. Did a few coats of CPR followed by two coats of Blackrocks and here she is. Still faded, still has a pen mark no one but me will probably notice, but now I think I need more Station bags! I'm happy with her.
Before and after pics.

And one more with my cute little hand sanitizer holder. Ready to go!

Amazing transformation!

Ahhh I love it. Looks beautiful.
I gotta replace my black station. It's just very lackluster, unlike yours!

I love the look of the station but find her too narrow for me.
Is she black or a dark green...or is it just the photo?

This Coach Taft is in great condition except for the wrinkly side pieces (@Hyacinth said it was likely due to being overfilled) Is there anything I can do to get rid of the wrinkles/stretch marks? Thanks!
PS Thanks for all the great info I've already 20200505_210822.jpg 20200505_180143.jpg 20200505_180228.jpg learned from all you talented rehabbers!

I have had a couple of bags with similar wrinkles and I assumed that it was because the leather was very dry. I gave the bags a bath and stuffed them with towels to dry and then applied a couple of applications of Leather Therapy Restorer and Conditioner while the bag was still damp; and then I continued with the rehab process as usual (e.g., Leather CPR, Black Rocks, and metal polish).

It didn't completely eliminate the wrinkles but I felt that they were reduced and the appearance was improved, good luck!

Is there anything I can add to acrylic paint to make it dry with a similar sheen to the leather? The paints I bought must be matte finish because they dry a different sheen and they catch the light in a different way.

That's too bad. I have rehabbed several canvas and leather coach bags and when they resist surface cleaning I throw caution to winds and tie them up in a net laundry bag or pillowcase and cycle them through the washer.

They usually come out clean and I haven't lost one yet! I know that it is a risk but if it means that I won't be comfortable carrying the bag with the stains then I figure it is worth trying.

Here is my favorite example, a Bleecker Canvas Flap that was filthy and badly stained with red wine. It got a sink bath and 2 trips through the washer but it eventually came out clean!

I wouldn't hesitate to put any canvas bag in the washer, I have washed plenty of fabric and leather bags, but in this case canvas and straw... I am not so sure, LOL

Great job on yours by the way.

You can add acrylic medium and gloss, like this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/Liquitex-Gloss-Acrylic-Medium-Varnish/dp/B000IXQAJY

You may also be using too much paint in your conditioner mix. If you only use a little, it doesn't affect the sheen too much.
Sometimes I'll mix craft paint with shiny fabric paint.

Thanks so much for the guidance @katev! I was hoping to be able to sell without any more work as I have so many others that need dunking. I know you're right though!
