Rehabbed a Lunchbox 9991. Thanks to the ladues for the authentication.

The purs was in overall good shape. No tears, cuts or gauges. The piping was pretty worn though and it had a smoke smell. So, it was dunk, light scrub, rinse, condition, condition, condition.

How is the size wise? Would it hold a “daily needs” amount or is it a “necessities” only bag? I have been eye 2 pastels ones, but have held off for fear of the size.

It fits a full size Coach wallet and iPhone XPlus. It still has room for more stuff like sunglasses but it’s also great if you like to keep a streamlined purse. Sorry, I don’t know why my image is turned sideways.

I gave up on trying to get the rings off. They weren’t budging and I slightly nicked one. This bag cost too much to damage.

Boy did she bleed in the water

So far she has:
Had her hardware vinegared
Soaked in vinegar water
Soaked and washed in soapy water with trouble spots individually soaped
Rinsed
Soaked in cool plain water
Rinsed again
Resting in a towel

PS- those are my pink car wash gloves cleaned to do bag washing not my hands

Back with my update.

Thank you again katev and Busykitty for your input, unfortunately didn't work. The reddish spots are a bit lighter but not gone.

First I tried the water with a bit of Dawn and a soft small brush and did the whole flap. Nothing changed so when dry I tried Soilove, no difference again and finally Amodex. As I said the spots looked lighter but also around them from from rubbing, I decided to stop not to make the canvas worse. I didn't try the Clorox pen, afraid it might really take the stain but also the color around it.

Oh well.... you win some, you lose some.

That's too bad. I have rehabbed several canvas and leather coach bags and when they resist surface cleaning I throw caution to winds and tie them up in a net laundry bag or pillowcase and cycle them through the washer.

They usually come out clean and I haven't lost one yet! I know that it is a risk but if it means that I won't be comfortable carrying the bag with the stains then I figure it is worth trying.

Here is my favorite example, a Bleecker Canvas Flap that was filthy and badly stained with red wine. It got a sink bath and 2 trips through the washer but it eventually came out clean!

I finally have my late 80s Station Bag ready to carry (and no place to go.)
The bag was very faded and dry when I got it in November. I dunked it months ago and just kept putting conditioner on it and it never seemed to get better. So I decided to dunk again. This time I started with the CPR within a couple of hours, hoping to trap in some moisture and it seems it worked. Did a few coats of CPR followed by two coats of Blackrocks and here she is. Still faded, still has a pen mark no one but me will probably notice, but now I think I need more Station bags! I'm happy with her.
Before and after pics.
