Just finished my taupe Sidepack! I love the shape of this bag and how this Taupe color turned out; my taupe City is browner and my taupe Prairie and Station Bag are more faded. Forgot to take before pictures again!

The purse was in excellent condition, except for these gouges on the piping. I ended up not doing anything because the color came back after bathing and conditioning.42DCFEFD-D94F-4BC5-B24E-5BAC57FAA332.jpeg
Here’s a pic of the piping from the listing:

That would be an option. Maybe in a while if I get another burst of motivation I may try that. I think it would be easier to cover up a light spot than a dark one.

I do admit, I was not very good at letting the application dry very long before I was making a determination on acceptability. I think a big part of it was that the two bags sat over on the table too long. Since weekends are the only time I have to devote to them, they sat over there two or three weeks along with the mess of paint and paper plates and toothpicks and qtips and yes I did try cosmetic sponges cut up into different shapes and sizes, and I eventually got tired of it and got over the desire to fix them. I don't have a good workspace, and there is nowhere in my house that has good, even lighting. Other than temporary impatience, there is no rush to do anything. So I will take any and all suggestions and sit on them for awhile before deciding what to do!

Any photos of stain painting success stories would be great to see, as well as fun applique results too, for inspiration.
I successfully covered a dark spot on a green Murphy with mixed paint. It blended in so well . The problem was the bag had Renapur treatment prior and I didn't clean it off. After a day the paint was dry, I used CPR to condition again, and wiped off the painting completely. Lol.. Then I decided the small dark dot just character and better left alone.
Currently working on a red Carly, also have a bad ink stained courier on it's way, will post pictures when done.

I have an orange Abbie that I basically completely recolored because it was mottled from, I’m guessing, mildew. This pic shows the before, after a bath & conditioning, and after recoloring.

I applied around half a dozen coats spread over a week using a combination of Angelus leather paint, Saphir Creme Surfine, and Leather CPR to get that final color. The feather sticker covers some pen marks.

Wow, that turned out great! I saw that bag and debated about it because of those gouges. I'm so glad you got it and made it beautiful again!

Wow. Excellent job! That's a result that looks very natural. Did you mix one large batch of paint and just try to get as close as you could and then go with it?

I was also surprised but the blue thread inside, that got me thinking that it might be Navy and the color had bled during washing, but the outside thread stayed white!

Yes, the turnlock had some kind of coating. I worked on it with Wenol to get that coating off and then I finished with Cape Cope cloths.

I am carrying my XL Ergo Tote right now and I love it!
Thanks for the information @katev, I will get those products and clean up the turnlock. It is a nice bag, I saw @Syren's post and knew I wanted one. I got mine for $30 + shipping!

Wanted to come back and show off my happy little metal tag convertible clutch. She was looking so sad but really didn't need much. Still need to replace the grommet on the one side but it can wait. She took about three coats of CPR and two coats of Blackrocks after the bath. I also put some clear coat on the metal tag to prevent further loss of the black.
