So, after a recent bout of lust for Mahogany I got myself a Convertible Clutch. First impression: How is this not everybody's favorite color? I really really hope she stays so rich-looking after I'm done with her. The CC also seems to be a great size, she'll probably fit all my crap and then some.
She's a bit more beat up than I'm used to (doesn't show well in the photo though), but I trust I can make her pretty. She's going in the bath tomorrow, I might busy myself with polishing the hardware today.
Also, I finally get why people love Costa Rican leather so much (have a very stiff CR Court), she is the softest little thing.
Here's the before, with clean juicy Manor and dusty dog-behind!

Here is my Manor before and after her dunk and CPR Coach Rehab and Rescue Club

I finished Scorched Chester today! Used soap stone to mark the spots were holes needed to go on the bag and my cousin cut me a piece of metal to the shape of the curve of the inside front pocket. Sandwiched brass pieces into bag and set. I’m happy overall. I would tweak a few things next time. Just need some straps and we’re good to go!

Love your Chester! As it is such a structured bag I was wondering if there is any difference to the dunking process. Are the front and back just single leather panels or is it a doubled up situation that tends to trap air like a Court flap? Asking for a friend, of course.

Thanks for my morning chuckle!! And I get it about complete transparency.....ditto!! I am an old school treasure hunter/picker and have found a few bags in some interesting (i.e., questionable, dirty, gross) places
However, I do love finding and rehabbing these bags and giving them to friends and family....the more vintage Coach I can rescue and place in "new homes", the better!
You're welcome haha. I gave a small legacy hobo, I forget the exact name, to young coworker (my jaw dropped when I saw her come in one day with a black Regina) when she left for another job. She couldn't believe I gave her one and I said I love seeing another generation appreciate them. I love giving these bags new life too.
However, I feel a bit stalled of late with rehabbing. I've been working from home since mid March, and well, all out of kilter with the new, not normal . . . .

I'm having so much trouble getting motivated to rehab. I'm down to the failures now that I gave up on before.

Does it have burgundy undertones? I have a Ranch from around '90 and the mahogany from that time was interesting, with burgundy undertones . . . .
