Ok...putting the cats amongst the pigeons...Have any of you used a beeswax product on your bags?
I have. The Obenauf LP is great in my opinion as a finishing touch. Renapur is also beeswax based and might be a little closer to the product being offered where you are. I know a few of us here really like the Renapur as a final step too. I’ve also been using Fieblings Aussie of late thanks to @houseof999 and I believe that also has beeswax in it. I’ve become a big fan of it.

I found this poor, beat-up bag in a thrift store today. I bit the bullet and bought it since it was cheap, but I don't know enough about the "Made in New York City" bags to say with authority it is the real deal. I own one NYC bag and that's it. No bag tag but there is a creed inside with the xxx-xxxx style of serial number, hardware is stamped solid brass, stitching is good throughout though inside bottom panel is loose. Eyeballing it I would say it could be a Stewardess bag (but have never seen a Stewardess bag in person). Thoughts?

Hi R&R Clubbers! I'm not sure if this will work right but I just quoted my post from the authenticator thread: yesterday I found a great old Stewardess bag at a thrift store that is SORELY in need of TLC. She is badly wrinkled and creased. I was thinking about dunking her but she also has this inside bottom panel of leather that is a little loose. Should I just dunk away and then deal with securing panel later?

I would definitely dunk that bag. Just make sure that the bottom panel is properly seated when you stuff the bag with towels to shape and dry.

Does anyone have an idea of what type of stain could cause this color and what might remove it? I've tried light dawn, rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide so far. I was thinking rust remover maybe but I figured I'd ask before I get into harsher chemicals. I have two bags from the same auction lot that I was hoping to clean up and gift this year.

Darnit, Now that I see the picture on a large computer screen it doesn't look as bad as it is in person.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's tea or coffee. I'd probably try vinegar on it.

Awesome score! I would definitely dunk her. Is the rest of the panel inside secure? My only concern would be debris that may have crept under there while the side was up. If it were my bag I would want to know it was clean under there before I sealed it up after dunking and drying. You can probably attach it with leather cement back to the bottom. I’ve started using a head lamp especially when vacuuming out bags so I can see what I’m missing. It’s a game changer!!

I have a bottle of Coach brand "Signature Fabric Cleaner" and I have found that it works well at removing stains from Coach jacquard fabric.
