There isn't much you can do for that. I would try to find some craft acrylic paint and paint over it. I don't know if the paint would stick to the PVC though. You might have to experiment to find a paint that would work.

I once used nailpolish to repair the edges of a similar bag, but the edges were high-gloss. Perhaps a matte varnish would work? I tried a bunch of samples on a sheet of cardstock until I found a good combo. Art stores sell acrylic medium, which is colourless but available in heaps of finishes. If you find a colour you like, perhaps you can add sheen after? I think that is easier than trying to find the right colour and finish at the same time.

ETA: Essie makes a matte clear nail polish. I only suggest nailpolish because it stuck, for me, on plastic that I had first painted with acrylic ( cheapo from the craft store). I bet you can get cheap matte nail polish as well. I used high gloss so I can't suggest a brand. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions to you both, there's so much to read here! I used to paint miniatures when I was younger, and have a bit of experience in gloss coats, and I'll probably take your suggestion, nursebetty, to use a test card, and whichever paint matches better also test gloss coats on top of the test spots. I'll get some pictures up when I get around to it. I need to get my pre christmas haul pics in for authing!

Hello, just bought this from Poshmark for next rehab project. My knowledge with NYC bag is very limited, could Someone tell me more information about this bag? Thank you.

Omg I didn’t know that Poshmark is available in Canada. This is dangerous!
I love the basic bag (I have three of them!). It’s got such a functional shape and size! I love the thick yet soft leather on the nyc version. And it looks like you got it at a good price (imo anyway). Congratulations!

Thank you. Poshmark shipping is more affordable than eBay, and no custom fees. More temptation trying to resist now.

Well here is my first attempt at a rehab. I found this bag at the local Goodwill for $20. While not quite vintage yet, it was filthy and squashed flat, but it looked legit (although I did not run it past The Authenticators). In any case, I thought it would be a good guinea pig for a first rehab attempt. I apologize for not taking before photos. Next time I will try to remember. I gave a good half hour soak in warm water and Dawn and then scrubbed it well with a soft brush. I then rinsed well and dried it carefully with stuffing to hold the shape. As it dried I conditioned it with Bick 4 (one of my favorite leather conditioners). The color came out nice and even and the shape came back pretty well. My wife really likes it and keeps asking when she can start using, so success on that front. There is a bit of discoloration or color loss on the four bottom corners, but not too bad. I will wait and see how that turns out when finally finished and conditioned fully before considering any possible treatments there. This was encouraging. I was pleasantly surprised at how the buckle impressions on the strap came out completely. I have some tougher prospects coming from ebay which will be greater challenges to restore. Here are some photos ... taking good photos without too many reflections is tough.

Holy cow! Me neither. I looked at the shipping rates and they are a dream compared to ebay
