My blue Janice from Goodwill just arrived! It is a beautiful slate blue. Absolutely beautiful. I have lots of blue bags but none near this shade. There are two grease spots on one side that I hope I can wash away. It was made in Costa Rica in 2004. The leather is soft and supple, so much different than my 2005 Rambler's Legacy that was made in China. I'll try to remember to get a picture of them side by side before I dunk the Janice.
I am blue with envy!

I've never steamed a bag, what is the procedure for doing that? thanks!
I have a Classic Hobo that pooched out. I am going to see if I can iron it. Will keep you posted.

Here is a side by side comparison of two blues: 2005 unknown blue Rambler's Legacy and my new to me 2004 Janice's Legacy, which might be federal blue. I haven't dunked the Janice yet. I never saw anything special in Janice by looking at pictures but IRL she's adorable.
Well that blue makes anything adorable! I am a sucker for contrast stitching. Side note, some one posted they used a black sharpie on the stitching on their black Bleeker 930x bags. To each his own, but I died a little inside, just sayin.

A lurker must've snatched it. Lol.
There are def people who lurk! Hi lurkers

Wow...thanks @whateve ...shows I really dont know anything....but love the colour.
I have learned sooooo much here!

Find it amazing how you just change the wording slightly on your search in Ebay and a whole lot of new bags suddenly appear at great prices.
I shouldnt be looking...Im on a bag ban.
I am working on diverting myself away from browsing and instead focusing on organizing what I have, creating a spreadsheet, rehabbing, deciding what to toss instead of looking at listings. Lol my sister says, if you keep hanging out in a Barbershop, you’re going to get a hair cut

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has ever kept/used a fake Coach bag?

I won an ebay auction for a poorly listed Court bag without creed pics, that I bid on in the last few minutes of the listing ( so I didn't authenticate). I took the risk as it was a VERY cheap bag with reasonable shipping ( I live outside of the U.S.) I am getting more involved in vintage bag collecting and restoration and repair for my own use, and thought at least if the bag was fake I wouldn't feel bad about using it as a guinea pig for testing leather products, trying some stitching or even harvesting parts - things I would stress about with a real bag. ( I don't know if the bag is fake, but now that I look at the photos more carefully, I am a bit suspicious).

Has anyone here ever experimented on a Foach? Used fake parts on genuine bags? If I were to donate the bag to Goodwill at some point, can I cut out the leather cartouche/ remove the fake hang-tag and do so? I know if the bag is fake I can return to seller, but I might not bother if the bag is leather and actually can be used - just not passed off as a genuine item.

Thanks so much!
I keep my fake pleather Court on the bottom of my closet. To remind me about impulse buys.

There are much better conditions available in my opinion.
Yes there are!

Next time I tell you I'm going to buy an envelope portfolio someone hit me with purse. It's a whole lot of leather for my two little hands! It's giant size is part of the reason I had put off rehabbing this bag for a very long time. View attachment 4612903
My kitchen sink was just big enough for a Beekman brief and another old classic, briefcase style, Metropolis maybe? The Beekman was a big. And I’ve got decent upper body strength. I feel you.
Hmmmmm. Envelope brief??

These are my recent 3 rehab bags. Mahogany Willis, black Legacy Patricia, navy Rambler. Don't have before picture for Willis. All 3 bags were in good shape before rehab, just need washing with Down soaped water, shaping, and conditioning with leather CPR.
Twins on the Rambler and Patti!
Okay. Monster catch up post!

Hello, just bought this from Poshmark for next rehab project. My knowledge with NYC bag is very limited, could Someone tell me more information about this bag? Thank you.

Nice little Basic Bag. Yes, lol an inspired name. Great little rehab. According to the guides posted in the shopping forum, probably early to mid ‘80s.
Lol, edited to add, so many of us began rehabbing with this little gem. I should take a picture of a pile of my bags to show you where you may end up

This is great price for a Legacy 65th anniversary crossbody bag in white color. Listed on Poshmark Canada. $35 CAD is like somewhere $27 USD.

Just a word of caution. I have an Ergo Pleated Hobo in chalk. It was cheap, but the handles never cleaned up as well as I would have liked. It put me off light bags unless they are like new. I’d like to see better photos on that bag.

This is a Basic Bag, style #9455. It was also called a Zippered Clutch. This style was introduced in the 1970s and some of the earlier ones had a glued in serial number. Yours has the number directly stamped on the pocket and is from the 1980s.

1976 (?) booklet:

Glued-in serial number:

Yours appears to be in great condition and should rehab nicely!

You’re kind. You could have said long winded. Missed a few days here and figured I’d bang it all out at once.
You don’t have a feature that lets you select a post to quote, and when you create your post, you do not have a feature for inserting quotes , you selected? I use an iPad Air.
I just need to take care and not reply in the actual quote.
ETA, not reply

Im not that computer literate, and once quated someone else without knowing how I did it. Will have to have a play and try and find what Im doing wrong....its user mistake not the tablet.
