Question about shaping the bag. For the Court, does anyone know if the leather on the sides is supposed to go in, or go out?

On the bag I got today, one side goes in, and the other side goes out.

I have one other Court, and when I shaped the bag, I winged it.

(Tried searching for catalog images showing the Court, but only found a couple and couldn't really see the sides.)

Here's one that shows the side. I always shape them inward.

Good morning everyone, did any of you dunk a drawstring Lexington? I hope it shouldn't be an issue, plus it's black with a black lining, so I'm not worried about color bleeding. It's just in general I don't have much experience with dunking lined bags - even though the liner of this one could be pulled out and the bag's shape is very forgiving, how do you shape it while it's still wet - considering the leather stays wet much longer?

Thank you!

Hello ladies, I need your advice and thanks in advance.
I have a very stubborn Swinger in Ivory, that the leather around the rings holding the strap, shows a lot of verdigris around the edges. It's hardly any space to work there, I tried a cloth wrapped around a toothpick dipped in vinegar and rubbed the best I could, it improved very little. What else could I do/use?

It's hard to tell with some bags - I normally do the same, but totally failed while rehabbing a Chancey bag... Only when I saw the catalog picture, I realized the initial idea was different.
Thanks for that picture of the Chauncey...always nice to add one to my files! What's kind of interesting is that it looks like the other side of the bag might be folded inward.

Those are probably the hardest places to clean! I've found that when you get the leather wet, the verdigris seems to dissolve and it can get rubbed into the leather. I prefer to work on it before I dunk the bag, while it's still dry. I've used paper towels, toothpicks, straight pins, and my fingernail...carefully scraping, lifting, and extracting the green stuff one fragment at a time. I wipe it onto a paper towel as I work.

One thing I tried to get inside the strap tabs, with only moderate success, was a tooth cleaning tool with tiny bristles, like this:

Removing verdigris can be a painstaking process and sometimes you just can't get it all. Good luck!

Oosh. Did you do something to adjust the shape, afterwards?

I recently dunked a Bellacourt and shaped it badly. I think partially because the sides should have been shaped inwards, and I shaped them going outwards. (I'm a bit weary of dunking again, because the bag is already kind of faded.)
Lol that's a post for another time.

So I dunked the navy ourt yesterday evening.
Thanks to @Catbird9 and @catthecurious, the sides have been shaped inward, and thanks to @nursebetty, cardboard was used to shape the bag.

It's drying now. Here's the shape. Thinking that it's ok...

If anyone happens to see this, and thinks that I screwed up and should adjust something, please do let me know.
The leather is still pretty damp and malleable.

It looks like it! But no matter how hard I tried, it didn't stay that way - i think there's simply not enough space to form a permanent inward fold. As soon as I gave up on that, it formed and outward fold quite naturally... and it wasn't much used and very flattened bag, so the wear wasn't an issue.

I did, and it stayed outward on one side, but is still neither here nor there on the other - I believe because I put too much effort into shaping it the other way, lol... Trying to fix that without dunking it again.
