I've never seen a watermelon tote with contrast edging. Is that how it originally was?Hello my always helpful experts.
I would like to ask (because I really do not want to mess this one up), if I should dunk this bag or just try first with leather cleaners. The inside needs cleaning too, but I am concerned about the green bleeding out. Adding vinegar to the bath water could help?
And to clean the kisslock leather that has darkened with use, I am trying to remember reading you sometimes use very fine sand paper? Is that correct?
TIA

I probably wouldn't use sandpaper. I've tried it on handles, never on a kisslock. I think the leather there is very thin. I would be afraid you would get holes. I would use vinegar.Hello my always helpful experts.

They sent me an email saying due to the popularity of handctags there is a back order???Yes you definitely should have gotten it by now. Hopefully they will get right on that!
Wow how strange. I guess they are really hit or miss from what I understand. They sent me an email saying due to the popularity of handctags there is a back order???
I've gotten some of the free hangtags (and turnlocks) almost immediately, some within a couple of weeks, and some have taken a few months!
This is good to know. Great idea!
I now request a new one whenever I use one that I have so that I always have one on hand, at least in gold and silver, because I know that I will have more bags without hangtags in the future.

I have also dunked dark green with no run off into the water so you're probably safe. It's unlikely the hangtag is made from exactly the same leather as the edging though so I'm not sure testing it would really help you.

I would dunk. I've washed two tone bags before without bleeding. I did one that was green on the main part with tan trim.
I recently purchased a Soft Satchel (if you read my other post you may know this took weeks to arrive!). Well, she's finally here. was so excited to bathe her, stuff her and condition her. Then, when I went to actually use her, the zipper was malfunctioning. It zips, but the teeth don't fully connect and it pulls open in places very easily. I went on the PF to search if people had this problem (I vaguely remember reading something about the vintage Lightweights having zipper issues?) to no avail. I searched for zipper replacement options near me, thinking I'd go to a cobbler or similar and came upon a youtube page which had a ridiculously easy solution the worked!
Basically, you take pliers and pinch the bottom half of the zipper pull. If this is completely obvious to everyone, I apologize but in case there is anyone out there with a busted zipper, you may want to try it! Here is the link if anyone wants to take a look.
Yes!Can Blackrocks be used on a Madison Sabrina? I pulled mine out of storage and she's looking pretty dry. I'm waiting for my jar of Blackrocks to come in the mail (never used it before but I've been reading up) I already used some Apple on her. Black btw, so I'm not worried about color darkening.
