Ok, finally a reveal! I'm pretty much finished, but who am I kidding, I'm being impatient. My Willis I'd finally dry. I'm taking it out on its maiden voyage today. I just love the the color a nice deep gray.

A few scratches are visible, but the pen marks just faded into the background and I can only see them if I'm really looking hard. I love it!

I washed a watermelon tote on Monday and it still isn't dry!

One of my favorite things to do for the old, dry, thick leather bags is take some towels (the ones I have already been using for the bag) Place them in the dryer & run until nice and warm. Then wrap one around me bag & nestle it in the towel 'nest', close the dryer door but don't turn on. Just let it sit until cool again. some times I just reshape and repeat several times.

Great idea! I'll have to try that with my next rehab.

Hi everyone!! Hope everyone is having a good week!!

I'm rehabbing a bottle green waverly tote. The color is worn off the corners. I picked out the darkest green in the closest shade I could find and it's still too light. I want to mix in some black and try it, but in scared (lol!!). I need some expert support here. Many thanks!!!

Ps today, had a routine procedure under anesthesia. Apparently when I first woke up I announced that I was "dreaming of coach bags". Thought I'd share because only all of you would understand the devotion!! : D

I am having a similar problem, trying to come up with the shade I need to paint over a pen mark on the leather flap that I tried to clean, but made a bigger mess on my Hamptons Striped Pastel Hobo, I bought two different shades of Magenta and still is not matching it.

I guess I am braver or dumber than you, because I am testing it directly on the stain, but I am easily cleaning it with water and a bit of soap before drying, and is not damaging the spot any further.

Funny your dream, but yes... we understand, LOL

So I've been looking for a challenging rehab project for Easter, and after two days of exchanging emails the seller finally agreed to ship this to me outside of the GSP.

Tell me I'm crazy, but it's pre-creed, I couldn't resist! I'll post pics when I get her and can assess the damage. I'll be asking you all for a advice on the best approach (Whateve, what is the correct name for her, please?).

Oh my! You are brave (but also very good at this), I can not wait to see the end result. I am not going to go to colors, till I master the black, LOL

Comforting to know I'm not the only "dreamer" LOLOL!
This may sound crazy, but you may want to add a teeny, tiny bit of red (or reddish brown) as well as a little black. Just adding black can sometimes make a color darker, but dull. Adding the red may keep the color warmer and a little more vibrant...just my 2 cents. Good Luck!

P.S. I went back through my rehab book and found a link that might be helpful: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club-624452-658.html#post25026785. I used red in making a bottle green mixture that worked well on my Prairie Bag...check it out.

This is a very good advice, thank you so much!

I have mixed black with the magenta for my project, but was not quite, I was thinking it needed perhaps a bit red. Now I will go for it. ;)

Looks great! Didn't you just get this? If so, you work fast!

This is my Spectator Compartment Bag’s red twin from 1989-90 #9850. Hubby and I bought this bag for his Mom back in 2005. Bought at a consignment store, but I don’t recall what we paid as it was before I kept records about my bags like I do now. When she downsized into an apartment last year, she gave it back to me :) I’m not sure she ever wore her...was in near-perfect condition! The first time I took her out, I got a spot right smack dab on the front flap, so she got a bath. YAY, the spot came out. I did this rehab just about a year ago. Didn’t do anything out of the ordinary, just a basic bath, rinse, stuff, dry, Leather CPR & Blackrocks 2X and buff. Love RED Coach leather!

This is my 1994 Murphy Bag #9930. Flat as a pancake and spots all over the front flap. Before pics are here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-855067-67.html#post26349887

Like my Handle Portfolio, I used extra warm water for the bath...steamingly warm. Made all but one small spot disappear, and the one that remains is greatly diminished! While rinsing, I found what looked like paint of some kind on the bottom piping. Steaming water made it roll right up. Leather CPR and Blackrocks make BT leather glow!

I think this was just a rescue...this little MFF pebbled leather demi #F10684 came “strapless”, but was in such great shape I couldn’t pass her up. I figured I could make a strap to at least make her somehow. Before pics are here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-855067-70.html#post26363150

I found a simple white leather belt in good condition at Salvation Army for $1.00. After cutting off the buckle end, trimming to match the point and punching holes, I used Wood-n-Stuff leather refinisher in Dark Brown to make the edges match the trim on the bag. The strap is probably much longer than the one it replaced, but it's comfortable and works for me. It’s really a pretty cheezy belt, but will last a little while til I find a better one. At least it makes the bag wearable.
