Hello ladies, hoping to get your opinion.
I dunked a honey or butterscotch? color leather Chadwick, (lighter than british tan), there was one mark/stain noticeable, the rest was the usual, a bit dry, in need to reshape....
I did it yesterday, at night I applied my first coat of conditioner, this morning there were areas already dry, but now it was showing "rings" here and there

I can not post pictures now, it would have to be tomorrow, in the mean time anybody got a similar experience?
TIA

I have had that happen too, I too walked away for a few days and I couldn’t believe it was the same bag. It was all even again.

I do have one that still looks horrible. I agree, unfortunately only time will tell.

Once when I rehabbed a red City Bag it took weeks for the spots to fade! I was convinced that the bag was ruined and put it away for awhile and was shocked to see that it looked great the next time I checked it. All I can advise is to be patient.

I had that happen with a red bag too. It looked worse than before I attempted the rehab, so I just dunked it again and let it dry. It dried evenly and I didn’t do anything else to it after that. Red bags worry me now too.

My 1st partial rehab. I used CPR 3 times on this and she came out beautiful! It didn’t come with a strap or hangtag, but I purchased mainly to try a rehab. Photos 1-6 are before photos.

No. It might be mold spots I see on the bottom. I just rehabbed one of these in british tan. It turned out ok. I don't know what I will do with it.
Yeah, it's not a style I can really use. I need a strap with most bags. I make an exception for my suede watermelon bag, but I don't carry it much. I just like having it in my collection.

Thank you everyone for the tips for the heel on DH's shoes! They looked great everywhere except the very top of the area in the back. I cleaned them with vinegar water, added a little shoe polish sponge, Leather CPR and Blackrock's. On the area that had worn, I mixed black acrylic paint with the Leather CPR before applying Blackrock's. I don't know how long it will last; so we're on the hunt for some new ones.

Thanks again ladies for sharing.
I took some pictures to show you, in case that you could spot a different problem. I am ready to be patient and wait if your previous advice doesn't change.
As you see on the pictures the marks are of different kind, or look that way to me.

I also wanted to ask... in this particular color bag that I wish not to change if possible, I am using as conditioner only Leather CPR. I have Leather Therapy, Blackrocks and Obenauf's as well, but not sure if I should use any of them, if it will help the spots, but change the color...? I have done some rehabbing, mostly on easy dark bags, you ladies have much more experience than me, so I trust (and value) your opinions.
TIA

Would this be part of the process of drying? Did I put too much conditioner in some areas? I use a sponge, so I think I do it evenly... I do not know what to think.

I can't say for sure what's going on there, but a couple of possibilities come to mind:

1. Not soaking the bag long enough. How long did you leave it in the water? The leather needs to get evenly and completely wet.

2. Not drying enough before applying conditioner. It should be damp but not wet. If you conditioned it the same day you dunked it, I'm thinking maybe you didn't wait long enough before conditioning.

3. Not completely dry yet. Don't use any more conditioner until it has a chance to dry completely.

I soaked it for about 40 minutes or so, turning it a couple times.
Yes, I applied the conditioner the same night, the straps were almost dry already, but the bag might have not been dry enough.
I won't touch it any more, if not improved should I dunk it again?
Thanks Catbird9

If it doesn't improve after a week or so, you can dunk it again.

If you dunk again, use hotter than normal water. I did this for a bag that already had water spots. It didn't get rid of them completely but it helped. Then I used paint to blend in the lines.

This is an off topic post - I wanted to say Happy International Women's Day to all ladies around here (and all men who make their life brighter and happier). It's a great holiday that is slowly but surely gaining popularity on this continent. To my American friends who don't know much about it I usually explain it as a "cross between Mother's Day and Valentine's Day": it's the holiday centered around ALL women - moms, grandmothers, young women and little girls. In Europe where it's celebrated men often give flowers to the women on the streets they often don't even know and treat them all like queens.
Below are words from a poem by the famous Russian poet Marina Tsvetaeva. I found it today among other women's wise words Google put together for the occasion. It says:
"Wings are freedom only when they are wide open in flight. On one's back they are a heavy weight."
May your wings never weigh you down and only help you reach your dreams!

Does anyone know how best to clean a jaguard bag with leather trim? I recently bought one second hand and it stinks. It’s kind of a musty/thrift store smell and it makes me sick. I am going to try to air it out but not sure that will work. I know I cannot throw it into the wash but is there any harm in soaking it in soapy water? I sprayed the inside with oxyclean but it still wreaks. Ugh. TIA.
