Right now it is stuffed with towels and drying on my workbench so I can't weigh it, but I would guess 1.5 pounds at the most. Not heavy at all but the strap is skinny, so if you carry a lot of heavy stuff in your bags that might be a factor to consider.

For comparison I pulled out my Madison Copley bag 4414 in the color "Butter" because it is larger but of very similar construction. Empty with the strap the Copley weighs 1 lb and 12 oz and I think that the Gramercy bag would be a little lighter. Here's a picture of the 2 bags next to each other on my work table.

Katev, I miss this thread for a while and come in to see these 2 beautiful shaped bags! Congrats on your newest find! I really love the shape of your bag. Did I already mention that? ;)

Thanks, I've got quite a collection of the vintage Italian Coach bags, I have a serious weakness for them. When I finish rehabbing my latest finds I will try to get them all out for a family photo!

Thanks for your suggestion. I think I may just leave as is. Was thrift store purchase.
This bag reminds me the story of Inverted Jenny; a 24 cent stamp with the picture of a plane was issued in 1918, and the issuers quickly realized the image was by mistake printed upside down. After printing only about 100 copies, they seized printing, but the stamp still became the most famous (and expensive) one in history. Maybe your bag will become famous, too!

It looks amazing! Wow!

Was the sage a slightly different color in some areas (like the front) when you received it? Or were the before photos off in color? I have a bag that looks brownish but the interior looks sage. I’ve only conditioned & hesitated washing it. I’ve been wondering if washing would help revive the exterior color.

The colors of the photos the seller sent were really off - it was definitely a lighter sage/olive color upon arrival. The leather wasn't dry, so I didn't mind dunking. I do it with most all of my bags!

Hi everyone,

I have a question about dunking a bag that has a dowel - do you only partially submerge the bag to keep the dowel out of the water? For some reason I have this impression that the dowel is wooden and may have trouble drying.... I thought I may have read it somewhere before..

Sorry if this has been asked, but I searched the thread ans I just can’t seem to find any specific mention of the dowel when dunking bags (I did see that Lake Effect has recently dunked a BT Winnie that turned out beautifully!) so I’d appreciate any tips. Now that leather cpr finally arrived for me I’m looking to dunk and reshape my black Winnie.

And for those who live in Canada, have you been able to find blackrock locally? Looks like it’s available on amazon for around $25 (incl shipping) but I was wondering if there are other options.

Thanks!!!

I've dunked lots of bags with dowel rods and they have dried just fine, I wouldn't worry about it. I have found some good leather care products in auto supply stores, equestrian supply stores, and shoe repair shops. You might try inquiring at some of them to see if they could get you some Black Rocks, good luck!

I don’t live in Canada so I’m not much help but I did purchase my Blackrock on eBay. I think I’ve seen some for around $9

As noted, no trouble dunking the Winnie. In a few years of following posts here, I have not read of any problems dunking a dowel bag.
