Hello, Thank you Whateve. I have some questions but not necessarily directled at Whateve since unpolite to constantly ask the same person in case non available. The prairie is ok but the court isn't coming out great. Too much wear maybe. I just bought Fielbings dye. Should I use that to freshen up the BT court? Also, for maintenance of the Oliver, should I just use leather CPR once in awhile? thank you!The Oliver looks pretty good. The others could benefit from a bath. We do it all the time with vintage Coach on this thread. Soak them in warm soapy water for 15 to 20 minutes, lightly scrubbing, mostly inside, as you don't want to damage the leather. You can put more effort into the stained areas. Rinse well, dry with towels, then stuff to get the shape you want and let the bags dry on towels. You can remove some of the stuffing and rearrange the bags to aid in the drying. When they are almost dry, start conditioning. I like to use Leather CPR. Several coats about a day apart until the leather is through soaking it up. Then a final coat of Blackrocks Leather n Rich and buffing. That should conceal most scratches. It is important to get the conditioners before you start the process as you don't want the leather to dry out too much. Don't expect to get good results with something like Apple. I would start with the Prairie and it is more tricky to shape a Court because of the handle.
maybe cute AggieK dog's chew toy!It looks like something that was buried in a grave and then later dug up.
I don't think that bag should be tan inside. I wonder if someone shoe polished it.Hello all! From my private inherited collection, such a cute Chrystie but she needs TLC. She came out of her bath but now I am not sure what to do. Leather CPR doesn't seem to absorb. Should I keep trying with the leather CPR? Any ideas on how to diminish the scratches on front near button closure? Should I try to dye this bag? Bottom corners are rough, I have no idea on how to improve this. All advice is appreciated! thank you in advance!
What kind of sewing machine do you have? I have an industrial singer that I have used for sewing vinyl for upholstering chairs. You'll need special needle and a powerful sewing machine.
First, I want to say I am completely jelly of your Coach inheritance! Best wishes and enjoy! I really can’t complain, I have had my share of thrifted and flea market finds.Hello all! I just have an ordinary Singer.Idk... A Singer. Not industrial. I read reviews of it and someone mentioned she sewed leather with it. So I have the special leather needles. I ordered them from Amazon.
Usually I wait a day but you can do it sooner, maybe after 6 hours. Usually I wait longer after later coats. I like to condition before I repair because the color once conditioned is sometimes quite different than it was before. Did you show pictures of the corners before? What you use may depend on how bad the damage is. We all have our favorite ways of doing it.I dunked my Station bag and am in the process of using the Leather CPR. So far, I've given it one coat but can tell she's going to need more. Do I need to wait a day between coats? Also, is it best to fix the worn corners before or after Blackrock? I am leaning towards before but have zero experience here. I would appreciate any ideas on the corners as well. I have E6000, Aleene's liquid stitch, and I can get puffy paint or anything else if someone has a recommend.
I am loving watching this back come back to life.
Thank you, guys.
Thanks Lake Effect! I had only one Coach for about 15 years, just a plain black shoulder bag, loved it and still love it. Unable to part with it for sentimental reasons. Now I have about thirty vintage Coach, rambler,2 dinky, 2 basic, Patricia etc...not bragging just I feel I really am lucky!!!! I thought this cutie was an authentic Coach, maybe not? I'll request an authentication. Thanks for your reply!First, I want to say I am completely jelly of your Coach inheritance! Best wishes and enjoy! I haven’t seen that sort of tan suede interior on an ivory/white bag before. It’s giving me a weird vibe. I have several ivory bags and have had my hands on white bags. I am curious as to what others say. Have you had this bag authenticated on the AT thread?
ETA, sniped by @whateve !

It is fun! Over the last few years, I have collected about 25, in addition to about 5 or so I had. And I have gotten a lot of bargains online, thrifting, flea markets, so I have no complaints now. I did in the early phase lol lol. And I have passed up many deals because I knew I just wouldn’t use the bag and am only looking to collect say a HG (holy grail) style or shoulder purse. Thanks Lake Effect! This probably can’t be fixed without replacing the whole zipper, and that’s quite expensive.
Thanks Lake Effect! what is a holy grail bag? maybe I have one! lol! You have a taupe Patti!! nice!! My Patti is black is good condition. I am so hard on bags and she's taking a beating. My fletcher is nice too but strap seems too small for me but size perfect. I have a rectangular nyc I should post to find out what it is. And a red, looks like Abbie but bigger. not sure. If it hasn’t set off whateve’s radar, then that is good enough aauthentification for me. Just wondering what the other Wise Ones think.
What color are your Patti’s? I have a taupe and black. Love the style. Have to keep myself from buying more.
