@katev do you know if the strap from a Biltmore will fit a Gracie? I no longer have a Gracie but curious just for reference just in case.

I wondered the same thing! But @Addicted to bags has both a Gracie and a Biltmore and she said that the Biltmore strap is a little thicker and it won't fit through the loops on the Gracie, see the link below:

@SEWDimples was looking for a gold chain strap for her Gracie, because it was also missing the strap, but I don't know if she was able to get one.

Thank you. I saw the FOS Hayden fold over crossbody clutch had the same type of snap button strap. I thought it might work for Gracie. I have the clutch but I don't have a Gracie to try it with. IMG_20190102_185433783.jpeg

I've got a small coach wristlet/bag. It has scuff on it. I've tried using a leather conditioner but they are still visible. I am wondering what my next step should be. I've read so much and I am a little overwhelmed.

It is likely that you aren't using the right conditioner. What conditioner did you use? I would recommend trying Blackrock leather n rich.

No, I have not been able to look for a gold chain.

Hi all, can I bug you folks for a bit with your help with what the name of this bag is? Thanks so much in advance for sharing your knowledge again [emoji4]

Interesting idea, it would probably depend on the spacing of the snap fasteners.

Here is a picture of the Gracie strap, it shows 3 snaps but I think that it was slightly adjustable and there were only 2 fasteners for the snaps, but I am not sure as my Gracie never had an original strap.

The lining is a brown fabric. When I rub my finger over the leather, I cannot feel the scuffs. They are much easier to see looking from at an angle.

I would start by giving it a bath. Soak it in warm water with Dawn dish soap and then rinse in plain water. Next stuff the bag with clean rags or towels to shape it properly and set it on a towels on a flat surface to dry, turning it occasionally. When the leather feels damp but not wet I lightly apply some leather conditioner. I usually use Leather CPR or Apple Garde conditioners.

After a day, remove the towels and pull the lining out as much as possible and let it continue drying while maintaining the proper shape of the bag - you don't want it to dry folded or wrinkled.

After it is dry I would apply Blackrocks Leather N Rich. Apply it very sparingly and rub it in well, because it gets greasy and waxy if you put it on thick. Buff the bag with a soft cloth or clean horsehair brush to restore the shine and reduce the appearance of scuff marks. If necessary sparingly apply a second treatment with Blackrocks.

Since the bag has silver (nickel) hardware you probably only need to buff it gently with a soft cloth to make it shine.

That's all there is to it!
