I know what you mean! At first I would fall in love with just about every bag I rehabbed, and would keep them either as "collection" pieces or as something I would personally use. Gradually I came to realize that I didn't just want collect them and have them sit on a closet shelf. I wanted to keep only bags I would actually carry. I thought long and hard about which ones to sell...and it's an ongoing process. My NYC bags were the hardest to part with, but after selling a few, it became easier. Now I enjoy finding, rehabbing, using and selling, for different reasons. And I still fall in love with bags I'm rehabbing, even though I know I probably won't keep them all.

Maybe you could try selling one or two bags in your existing Etsy shop and see how it goes, and open a second shop just for handbags if you decide to sell more.

I can see why the NYC bags would be harder to let go, for me the easiest would be the signature bags. I love them when others carry them, but I don’t quite wear them as well as others do.

I think that’s a great suggestion, to just test the waters a bit and see what happens. Today I did put together a little pile of bags that I feel I can part with and so far I’ve only removed two from the pile. So we will see what happens by tomorrow, I think I might be successful and still have some bags left in my pile. I did remove the “suiter” bag I think it’s called. I put it in the pile because I am not sure how to begin to rehab it. It has one long scratch that you can only see from and angle and the bottom corners are a little faded.

Has anyone rehabbed one of those “suiter” bags before? I know the name is probably wrong but it’s about half the size of a garment bag. The big scratch is my main issue, unfortunately because you can only see it from an angle, I didn’t notice it until after I purchased it while I was putting it in my car.

I sold all my signature bags first. They were easy to sell surprisingly. I definitely don't regret selling them ever. I regret buying them though!

I ended up listing 3 today. I have at least 3 more in line and more almost finished rehabs that I need to fit in somehow...

I only ever bought 2 signature bags -- both for less than $4. I sold one but still have one from the 65th anniversary collection -- that's my "excuse" for keeping it. Sometimes I see a signature bag that I like but the sheer ubiquity of the genre is a turnoff.

There is a black Court bag with nickel hardware on Mercari for $39, see link below but use Google Chrome to view pictures:

https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m64744101954/

I can see the pictures in Firefox?

Firefox works for me on my laptop. On my iphone 5, using Safari, I get the message "This browser isn't supported. Mercari works best on Chrome, Firefox or Safari." (Even though Safari IS the browser I am using on that device, it is not the most recent version because Apple no longer updates that device's software. I suppose I could try installing Chrome or Firefox on the phone, but it's not worth the bother.)

Good to know, on IE I was getting the Mercari pages but not the pics but when I tried Chrome I had the full listings.

I should probably just upgrade to Chrome for everything but all my bookmarks and saved passwords are on IE, darn!
