Oooooooh. Could be BT, but I am guessing, only guessing it is a lighter shade. Completely smitten, you lucky duck. Side note, lol, I really don’t need this bag. Can’t wait to see the rehabbed patina!
LOL. It's pretty scratched up still after a bath. I am also stumped as to what to craft a zipper pull from. She does look much cleaner and nicer now. I think it will go bt after some conditioner.

So this is my last post as I finish my coffee
Can anyone tell me if this is vachetta? I would really like to rehab a vachetta bag at some point. I would like this one, but I have already *just one one bag* purchased several times recently
But I would like to learn more about vachetta. Am I wrong to think this could have an awesome patina after cleaning and conditioning ? :girlsigh:

I don't know if it's vachetta but I'm not confident that bag will rehab well. It's not that lovely, thick old leather that gets its color back IME.

I don't think it's vachetta either, but @katev has rehabbed at least one Bleecker Tattersall bag:

I don't know if it is vachetta, I will defer to @whateve for that information, but I think it will rehab well. Those Bleecker bags with tattersall lining have amazing leather.

The first link below shows before and after pics of a Bleecker Flap Bag and Wallet with tattersall lining that I dunked and rehabbed and they came out great. My bag was a dark color (ink) but maybe it will give you an idea about the leather and how it is likely to rehab.

The second link is for a light-colored (Buckskin) Soho Laced Bag from the same era that also got a bath and it came out great and I think that it is made of similar leather to the bag you are considering.

So I think that the bag you've found will rehab well and it is offered at a great price!

(Please note that I mistakenly called the Bleecker Flap Bag in the first link a Legacy bag, but it is not Legacy.)

It is not vachetta. I have a bag from that time period that is vachetta, and the creed states it is vachetta. It is burnished leather.

Nice video! Very informative [emoji4] I have a bag with the green on the metal. Do you have to remove that prior to washing it? Thanks so much.

Thanks for watching. If you have heavy oxidation on the metal or bag, add a small amount of white vinegar to your wash. When you have completed the washing, you can do the steps in the video, however vertigris tends to get stuck between the metal and leather so more care will need to be taken. You can remove the hardware to clean it or scoop out the green goo. I use a mix of my dremmel to clean and carefully use a needle for around the gromets to scoop. You have to be careful not to scratch the leather.
I will try and find some old photos to show.

Thanks so much. It’s mainly on this piece and maybe little spots on the front IMG_9102.JPGIMG_9103.JPG
